The Hundreds x G-Shock GW-5610

Post by snoballz » Wed Mar 07, 2012 11:51 am

I should have learned by now never to pass on opportunities. The Hundreds collaboration really didn't do it for me so when I had the chance to pick it up on the day it dropped this past Saturday at the Hundreds store in SoHo, I passed. Here I am now after two days of hustling...

No pic of the actual watch but I know someone else that may have a few pics... just sayin'.

 The sickness! So when's AC gonna post some pics? :tap: And is this gonna be another D&R-type craze? I really should know this. I was in g-shock madness a few years back and went all crazy on G's. not going down that road again, but I wouldn't pass up a cool one. :fro:

Definitely not as cray-zhay as the Dee and Rickys, but it's still got some swagger; and for once we're seeing a collab G with a serious module under the hood (multi-band 6, Tough Solar, 24-hr timer...).

The glossy black pushers and buckle are a nice touch (I'd like to believe that they're PVD, but most likely they're IP).

As far as hype goes, while I doubt that The Hundreds will come close to reaching D&R heights, they're already kissing $300 on eBay. We'll see if it sticks.

Probably not the same level of hype as the D&R2 but Macy's in Herald Square once again will not put any on display. In fact, their allotment for this watch is less than what they got on D&R2!

Yeah, judging from the numbers folks are posting on WUSsy, it seems as if this is even more limited than the D&R White release. Some are reporting that most Macy's locations are limited to just 3, and that even then not all stores will be getting it. Hell, we only got 15 here at Herald Square, and as Luke said, they're treating it like the D&R White in that they're hiding them 'til the folks who reserved them show up and take 'em.

Adam

Hmmm, I like that!

I've been out of the loop, this is a pretty cool collab IMO.

Whats the MSRP?

The list is $160, which is about right for this particular module, IIRC.

Regards,
Adam

PS - FWIW, I tried to grab more, but I was late to the party with this release. I'm fortunate in that my peeps at the G-Shock counter always set aside one of whatever the new hotness is for me unbidden, but if I want more I've gotta put the order in early.

Cool, thanks Willy.

I still miss my old GWM5600bc, loved that composite bracelet.
But this one might fill that void.

I just came from the Macy's next to my work and the sales person advise that they had not received them as of the present time.I'm not sure about the quantity for South Florida stores, but the D&R had 15 at that particular store and none for the rest of their stores in SF which I found very wierd.
