Fell Off The G-Shock Wagon, Pt. II

Post by dshap » Fri Dec 09, 2011 7:37 am

I just got this new one, the G-Shock GD-100PS-3

It is a special edition play set model, which comes with the little figure you can see in the box. The case and each half of the strap is a different color, and the display has a green tint. I've wanted a green G-Shock for a while, so when I found a good deal on this one, I grabbed it.

Now my G collection is up to 2 pieces. What will be next?

Well, I'm certainly not going to say Dee and Ricky...

Hmmm... I think you need need another Froggie. That's going to be my next stop on the G-Shock train. I might also suggest a Mudman, but it seems like you gravitate towards the larger Gs, and the Muddies are a bit on the small side (same goes for the classic 5600s). A King of G-Shock is also something to consider, but man, they're huge. I love my JDM orange King, but it's pretty much restricted to weekend use.

Anyway, great pick up (doesn't Luke have one of these?), and keep us updated on your hunt for the next G.

Adam

I'm fine with a smaller G, I just happen to like the designs of the larger ones better in most cases. I already did the froggy thing, but probably won't again. Too much money to sink into a G, methinks (though if I ever see a good deal on a gray camo Frog, it's mine!).

I hate the old Mudman, but the new one is cool. My next one will probably be some gray model.

And yes, Luke already got one months ago. If it's cool, he already has one... the bastid.

It's not atomic, and it doesn't say solar on the dial so I have no idea.

Who cares about that shit, it's green! Green!

G's are fun watches to collect. In theory, I'd love to own a bunch. I just can't stand wearing them.

I work with middle schoolers on the weekend, and they're ALL wearing some white or other colorful G. :raised:

Except for the NEW mudman - it's considerably bigger than the 9000 series. Check out the gold/black series of the new atomic/solar muddies at c-watch. ;)

I don't wear them too often, I just like having them and looking at them in the watch box as much as anything else. :banplz:

Basically what my G's end up relegated to. Sounds like a plan to me.

(Anyone got a bead on a MIRO Riseman? That's one I regret selling.)

no wonder my niece (whose 12) wanted one. I gave her a modded yellow and black GW7900.

I'm still contemplating about the new mudman... kinda waiting for it to be released in the US

I was talking to a bunch of guys, and they said, "You like watches, huh?" while looking at my wrist. I said, "Yup. I have a few".

I showed them the watch (don't remember what I was wearing - I think the Explorer), and they said, "Oh - you should really get a white G-shock!".

:raised:

Gotta love 'em.

Congrats, both of those are pretty cool. I like having a G and a few digitals in the collection. Easy reliable and fun.

You do need to mix in something solar/atomic though.

You don't have any open sky in the city.

I have one atomic/solar that I keep in my watchbox (which is by a window) that I use to set all my other watches. It's pretty convenient.

I have a couple, and like Matt, it's my baseline time reference.

While mine don't synch every night, they synch at least once or twice a week.

If you're in the city, I could see that being a problem. I like that model though.

Has it literally never synched...or just once in a blue moon?

I can't get it to sink on Long Island or even North Carolina

My Atomic synchs every night. It just has be aligned properly and pointed in the right direction.
You know, like, err..
"We'd better synchronize our watches."
