new Dee & Ricky sold out in Japan, trickling out soon?
Re: new Dee & Ricky sold out in Japan, trickling out soon?
I was in my local Macy's yesterday and they had a nice display of Gs but none of these (on display anyway). It is not far from my house so I will keep checking in. I think they are hideous so if I manage to snag one I will pass it along to someone here who really wants it and won't just stick it on ebay.

Same here - there's a Macy's down the road from the house. Plus I'll be in Columbus this weekend. if we make it out, I will check there as well. I have no intentions of buying one to wear. White just ain't my thang.

Re: new Dee & Ricky sold out in Japan, trickling out soon?
That's great, guys. I'm pretty bummed that I wasn't able to grab a bunch, since I was looking forward to being able to spread the joy around DWC like I did with the previous version. Likewise, I plan on hitting up the local Macy's in CT this weekend to see if they have any (doubtful, but hey, you never know).
Also, I agree that white is a tough color to pull off, not only because it's a bit ghey, but also because they chose a matte finish, which will eventually get dirty and permanently discolor if worn frequently (glossy finishes are far easier to maintain, but I hate how they look). Whereas I wear my original Dee and Ricky quite often, this one won't see a whole lot of wrist time.
Regards,
Adam
PS - I will say, however, that it's quite eye-popping in real life. My guy downstairs was sporting one last night, and while he's with me in vastly preferring the original, this sucker does work a whole lot better in person than it does in photos.

It's ugly as shit, but a good investment. I'm not going to try to get one though, the frenzy is too ridiculous.

I'll grant you this, that first one is pretty cool looking. Maybe it's all the colors on the D&R2.

The Nigel Sylvester is SO much nicer than a D&R, and it's on my hit list (Luke, you have good taste in G's bro ).

Adam is right about how it looks in person, it is definitely a lot less "in your face" than you would think!BSears wrote:snoballz wrote:My favorite... sorry, stock photo... pic's I've taken aren't in my PB account.BSears wrote: White just ain't my thang.

As an aside, Luke, I will say that it was a bit funny to have the both of us on the sales floor, waiting anxiously for a manager to get your plastic, $130 made-in-China "Jesus" watch, yet we're rocking a 372 and a DSSD, respectively.
Just an observation.
Regards,
Adam
PS - The Nigel is definitely cool (not too sure how I feel about the "1987" reference, though, which is an homage to the year the dude was born; i.e. we're old), but the Krink remains my absolute favorite.
Just an observation.

I really like the Krink. Is it possible to find one these days?craniotes wrote:As an aside, Luke, I will say that it was a bit funny to have the both of us on the sales floor, waiting anxiously for a manager to get your plastic, $130 made-in-China "Jesus" watch, yet we're rocking a 372 and a DSSD, respectively.

BTW, you hardly notice the 1987 on the strap.
Yeah, the Krink is cool too. I wore it often until I got the Sylvester.
BTW... a far cry from the last D&R release!

Tell me about it...

PS - Ben, the Krinks are pretty much sold out (apparently we have one overlooked one left here, which I'm attempting to claim for Barry), but they can still be found for under $200 on the secondary market. Don't know how long that's going to be the case, though.

I don't remember. It was either $90 or $100.bshappy wrote:What do they retail at?craniotes wrote:

Finally...
I've never seen anything like this before. I mean, the sales associates are actually afraid to walk around with the boxes exposed (they have to be bagged). The watches are locked up, there's a list and if your name ain't on it, you don't get one.

Adam
