Haven't had a new one for a while and had an itch that needed scratched, so I picked up the new GW-9300GB-1JF. the gold/black muddie. Never really been a fan of negative displays but all the pics and reviews I've seen of this one, the gold background provides a nice contrast and makes it pretty easy to read. And the all black provides the stealthiness I require on midnight ninja runs. :bs:  Probably won't get it for another week since Chino watch just went on a summer holiday for a week and I didn't get payment in until today (which was around midnight in Japan). Maybe I'll be lucky. Anyway, this will hold me over until I decide what to do with the collection. All this freakin consolidation stuff has had me thinking. Love what I got, but it's always what I don't have that entices me. Aw hell, you f'ers know what I'm talking about!

here's a pic shamelessly lifted from Chino Watch's website.

I'll do a full review, pics and maybe a video. Might have to throw in a quick bourbon review at the end for the hell of it. If I don't somebody remind me. :drinkingbuddies:

No I believe it. That's the main reason I've never had one in the past. I've seen plenty of pics over at the G-shock forum on WUS from back in the day and for those taken in the sun, you can't see the dial. Aside from the crystal reflection, though, this one should be good to go regardless. I got my wife a pink negative display baby-g a while back and I could barely read the time in the house, much less outside! Needless to say, she never wore it and it sits at home in a box, in a drawer. it needs a good home - maybe somebody here with a daughter might want it??? Hit me up, it'll go cheap cheap cheap.

But, looks like I'll have it sooner than I thought. Just got the ship notice this morning so maybe sometime next week. :bananastoner:

I'm not sure about this model but the only screw backs that were recently released are the newer Froggies and some of GW5XXX models.

I don't think this one is a screwback. I've looked all over for pics, but DougFNJ (on the g-shock forum at WUS) did a pretty good video review of this one and I could just make out the screws holding the case back. So I'm thinking it's not a screwback. All the same, I've never had a problem with my gw9000a muddie and it's the same way.

Cool pickup Brad! I have negative display pathfinder. Not too bad...I actually find it easier to read in bright conditions than medium or indoor conditions. The auto backlight is great though, and helps make up for the slightly less legible display. Regardless, the neg display is cool and having one in the collections is fun.

Looking forward to RW pics and your thoughts.

But I like that one a lot.

Glad you could scratch that itch.

Very nice. I've been looking for a solar, atomic G, myself. Interested to hear your impressions when it arrives.

Thats a cool G!

Dig the stealth and gold accents.
It does kinda look like some Frogman characteristics there.

I'd rock that one.
Cheers.

NICE! I do dig the gold against the black... cool contrast and not over the top gold accents like others.

I like the matte finish. The gold ones on the glossy cases are hideous.

Matte finish is right. No gloss here. reminds me of the old skool Raysman due to the thickness of the case. Crappy wrist shot here, but I'll get some good pics and a review this weekend, hopefully. Just arrived from Japan yesterday.
