Strapcode changing some bracelet names..
Looks like Rolex has a problem with them using "Jubilee," "Oyster," "Submariner" and anything referencing Tudor

I guess "Jew Belly" wasn't an option.
Re: Strapcode changing some bracelet names..
Hmmm... Does Seiko use the jubilee /Oyster names as well?

I'm not sure if they do or not, but my guess is what got Rolex's attention here was Strapcode's use of Rolex/Tudor/Black Bay on their site. Rolex probably just included oyster and jubilee along with those complaints, because, why not?
Re: Strapcode changing some bracelet names..
Actually, I stand corrected. I can find no Seiko use of the word "jubilee" or "oyster" in reference to a bracelet. I used the "site:" function of google to search the Seikousa site.
While the terms do appear on the site, they are only found in buyer feedback / reviews sections, so not Seiko content.
Re: Strapcode changing some bracelet names..
I was curious, so I jumped on Steinhart's website to see how they describe the bracelets for their "totally not Rolex homage watches." They seem to be pretty careful about not saying "oyster" - they just use a generic stainless steel description. So maybe Rolex does have proprietary rights to those terms as they pertain to bracelets.Ryeguy wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2019 11:18 amActually, I stand corrected. Or maybe they're just throwing their weight around.

Must be a slow day for Rolex's lawyers so they need to create unnecessary drama.
I certainly doubt in any way this is cutting into their sales as none of the bracelet's as far as I know are made to fit a Rolex.

Maybe all the marketing SC has been doing has made Rolex more aware of them
