Heuerville Coal Oiled Strap

Post by mattcantwin » Sun Oct 06, 2019 7:55 am

I've had the U1-P on so many straps, but ultimately it ends up back on Stewart's Coal Oiled strap because it is so comfortable.

A pretty thick leather that wears great from day one.

Here it is in the rally version.

Will be ordering one in 20mm, too.

That looks awesome. I generally don’t like modern-looking dive watches, such as the U1, on leather, but the U1P really works on dark leather. Love mine on a Chronissimo.

I usually end up changing-out thicker straps for thinner because the thicker straps aren’t as pliable and comfy. Do I need to wear the thick strap longer, maybe spend some time flexing it, to get it to a more flexible state?

Some straps have that break-in period to get pliable, this one doesn't.

Like you, I have given up on some straps that didn't get there soon enough.

For most straps I get from Stewart, I ask him to make it thin at the lug ends (especially one like this).

I have not found a strap I really like on my Autavia Chronograph.

I may have to order that strap in 21mm - it looks great..
