Where to find available canvas straps.
Where to find available canvas straps.
On the list with a maker here (I think) but am getting impatient and want an alternative to hold me over. Where should I be looking?

Gruppo Gamma has some available. 3 colors I believe. Not handmade, but they are pretty damn good.

Barton makes thin canvas straps. Much lighter weight but hey it's a $20 strap.

Here's a Barton. I'll post a side profile later to show how it's much thinner than Art' s or Drew' s.

Let me be clear and state that my concern was not with Art.
Art and I have had an active PM here.

I bought a blue canvas from Helm Watches.
Nice strap and liked that one side shows white stitching and the other doesn't.

Never found a ready made canvas that didn't lack that certain pizzazz.
By that I mean they all felt like mass made in China pieces of shit.

Heck I'd take Art's over the cheaper versions any day.sierra11b wrote:Let me be clear and state that my concern was not with Art.

Re: Where to find available canvas straps.
I don't think the OP was trying to compare quality. He just wants something simple and cheap while he waits. I'm on the waiting list, too. No harm to Art. Quality takes time.
Barton has some great straps. I dig them.

Micah makes a pretty nice canvas strap. Prices are higher than Drew or Art, though.

But thanks for the other quality alternatives to consider.

Here's a profile of Barton canvas. It's really more a 2-piece canvas Nato than a canvas strap.

The last few group buys have drawn very little interest. I'd feel bad asking him again.manitoujoe wrote:I need a Micah again for sure. Anyone up for another group buy?CGSshorty wrote: ↑Sat Sep 09, 2017 9:54 pmMicah makes a pretty nice canvas strap. Prices are higher than Drew or Art, though.

I really feel like Micah could benefit from slightly thinner stitching. Those fat threads sure show imperfections a lot more.
Maybe a 60% price cut too.
But what do I know, maybe these sell like hot cakes.

If anyone interested, I stumbled upon this on Etsy. No where near the color palette of Art but they look pretty damm good based on pics.
