Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
I like the look of these and may get one for my U1/UX.
Several stitch color and hardware options available.
22mm now and 20mm in a month or so.

Haven't take mine off the Stowa since it arrived.

Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
I may be the only one to prefer this, but I had Erika make the strap so the clasp falls under the wrist.
I don't find it uncomfortable and like the clean look on the sides.

Nice. I like that. That's how I'd run it. I'll note that in the order.

Really like these. Very comfortable straps. Still waiting for Erika to receive the 20mm black Ops.
Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
I've been waiting for two on the way: one black and one original MN. Hopefully, they meet my expectations.
Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
What is to stop these from unhooking and falling off? Am I missing something?

Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
Never had it unhook.
She makes the strap based on your wrist size and then you slide the metal catch along the strap to provide the right fit.
I don't even bother to unhook it when I take it on or off, just slide it over my hand.
Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
That's awesome Matt, so you just take it off like a sock
Chris, there's is nothing to stop it from unhooking, perfect recipe for a thief or a snag accident.

Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
If I remember correctly, these straps were originally designed so the watch could be attached to a diver's compass / navigation board. I don't think they were originally intended for wearing the watch on your wrist.
If it works for people, cool. For me personally, I'd be worried doing anything too athletic with the watch only held on by the elastic in the cloth and that simple clasp. A NATO seems like a more robust solution.

It scared me when I used it. I gave the strap away.Panerai7 wrote:That's awesome Matt, so you just take it off like a sock

As it's elastic you adjust it so it fits snugly. It won't fall off and would be very difficult to steal off the wrist.
BTW, I saw diagrams of that trick in a book about magic several years ago. Even though I knew about it, a talented magician was still able to remove my watch without me knowing. Incredible.

But could a hotel bar hooker get it off your wrist after a night of drinking and ghb?

Unintentionally freeing the hook would not be easily done, if at all.
Also, when you unhook the clasp the strap is still a closed loop.
ps Sounds like you had an interesting evening, Jay...or your friend did.

Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
I had two of them. I gave them away. The hook is bent at the end of it so I dont' think it will come undone. I just thought for a $50 strap the hardware would be better than bent steel. Erika's strap is not like the original one, hers is a modified version. Erika purchases the material and makes her own. Nothing wrong with that though. This way it is more custom.
The only guys selling the actually og versions is on wristsushi. I have one of theirs also. The complete strap is two layers of material, so the strap is to bulky imo. And it only has one piece of hardware on it. I think they sells theirs for about $35 I am not sure.

That gives a bit more piece of mind. A plain one (no stripe) might be nice.

She can make that since she sews in the stripe.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:05 ammattcantwin wrote:Unintentionally freeing the hook would not be easily done, if at all.

I'm not sure why anyone would want a stripe.toxicavenger wrote:She can make that since she sews in the stripe.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:05 ammattcantwin wrote:Unintentionally freeing the hook would not be easily done, if at all.

Terry, which one do you mean, the ones in pics are not sewn-in stripes, the yellow is setup from the factory weave like that.toxicavenger wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:06 amShe can make that since she sews in the stripe.hoppyjr wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:05 ammattcantwin wrote:Unintentionally freeing the hook would not be easily done, if at all.

Re: Erika's Black Ops MN Straps
Most likely the webbing is ordered from china with predetermined width and pattern. Here's the machine used to make these, I seriously doubt she's got one of these setup in her arts and crafts hobby room

Very cool, Art; but Erika's got two machines up and running.

Wow, didn't know she's got a shop setup at Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology in Nagoya. Pretty cool
