Bracelet Suggestions / Help
Gents,
I am doing a 007 build and going to try a braclet again
I am a Drew, Aaron or ISO fan, but willing to try again
Not a Mesh or Engineer uy
I like the strap/watch tight so it does not flop around
Wrist 6 ¾ or 170 mm
Would like ability to have a good fit (micro adjustment?)
Educate me:
Solid link?
Cuved End?
Endmill?
Whats more comfortable on a 170 wrist?

Vendor:
Strapcode?
Tungchoy (same a strapcode I think)
Harold?

Thanx in advance guys

If you don't want mesh or engineer, then jubilee will probably give you the most conforming fit. President may be second (endmill in Harold/Yobokies terminology).

WJean makes a nice jubilee. He sells on eBay.

Harold's Beads of Rice bracelet might be a good option. It is a true "beads of rice" made up of individual "beads", so very adjustable. All the pivot points makes the bracelet very flexible. It is probably one of the more comfortable bracelet styles I wear.

Yes, original Seiko jubilee is lighter, less solid, the clasp is crappier, it might make noise, much cheaper. I have a few of each and while the Strapcode/Wjean is and feel of better quality, the original Seiko one works just fine for what it is and comfortably hold the watch in place.

It is really up to you if you prefer a better feel and quality with higher weight of the strapcode/Wjean one or can live with the cheapness of the original.

There are other options too, many other Seiko bracelets that could be used, some however have smaller holes by the end links and so don't take the fat springbars. But they are options and in some cases much better quality options.

Just a couple of warning...

I believe that the bracelets are brushed or polished/brushed, so not sure they will look good with a blasted case. Of course you can also blast the bracelet to handle that...

If you care about lume, ask how it is on the hands and dial you are getting. The last few parts I got from Dagaz had poor lume, Yobokies parts were worse. you can also check for photos of lume shots of those particular hands and dials, but unless they are the same exact production run, they might now be the same quality and/or brightness.

if you don't care about the lume, then not a problem.

Carlo is 100% accurate on all points. I had a Tsunami and while a nice watch, the lume was nothing compared to Seiko stock diver lume.

Harold's BOR has polished center links so I'm not certain how it would look with a blasted case. I don't know how you would brush out that style bracelet either as you'd have to hit each individual link (think pile of little steel "rice").

If you'd like any photos for comparison purposes, I have a stock Seiko presidential bracelet, a WJean super oyster and Harold's BOR.

Normally I suggest to people to always buy a watch on the bracelet as buying a strap aftermarket is much less expensive than buying an OEM bracelet aftermarket. With the SKX007 I might make an exception - especially if you are going to mod the watch. Save yourself the $30 and get the watch on rubber. Apply that savings to your choice of aftermarket bracelet.

Hey Bill, sounds good. Customizing SKX divers is fun, here are a few of my projects, they are keepers minus the SKX011J and SKX399 which already went to good homes... ;)
