New straps from a friend
New straps from a friend
Just in today are these 3 cool straps from a buddy of mine and fellow WIS who started making his own straps not long ago after we discussed that it would be cool to try our hand at it. As you can guess, I didn't get very far. I bought all the tools but with no time because of the wife and 2 young kids and rennos, work, life yadda yadda, I've made excuses not to start and he went full speed ahead.
I know one of the 3 straps Chris (shorty) is gonna love
Anyhow here they are.
My fav of course if the yellow ostrich leg strap. Colour and texture is fantastic. I love it. Too bold under DWC standards but hey, it's Danny_T we're talking about here!
Second is what I call the 'filet mignon'. It's the dark choc brown one and is a top grain calf leather and is BUTTER SOFT and superbly flexible. This one will definitely be a joy to wear for sure.
Third is a goat leather with pigskin suede backing. This is a leather my buddy experimented with and the colour was achieved using a dye. It comes tanned and he just mixed a ton of reducer with some brown and a little grey to wash over it to get rid of the 'peachy' natural colour it comes in.
So I'm making progress. 2 earthtones and 1 bold colour. Last year it would have been the opposite lol
Enjoy the slideshow

Nice work for a guy who just started. That DaLuca clown can't stitch that well after years of making straps. No comment on the dog urine yellow ostrich.

Make sure to do an intro thread .
Don't worry about Chris, he hasn't admitted to loving colours that excrete from the bodies of animals lol
He prefers turquoise. it's the official colour of DWC
Re: New straps from a friend
Actually, there was some turquoise ostrich at the leather store when I was there on fridayDanny_T wrote: He prefers turquoise. it's the official colour of DWC
