Problem solved

Post by mattcantwin » Wed Jun 24, 2015 8:22 am

The Drew canvas is my favorite strap.

I probably waited too long to keep up with the maintenance Drew recommends for the frayed edges around the holes.

I followed the steps as best I could (I really don't work well with adhesives), but there were more
strands missing than the method is designed to address.

Fortunately, I was able to flip the strap over and it looks fine.

New and improved exterior side of strap:

I will keep an eye on things and keep up with the wear from now on.

Thank you for the update Matt. I wish there was a different system for securing a strap, then hole and pin... I mean one is stuck with set holes and in many cases the strap is too loose or too tight. Some people make another hole in between trying to make it a perfect fit. However, if there was some other way to secure the strap with "micro adjustment" like way, it would be great. Also there would not be holes to be worried about, they always wear and get larger, fray, etc.

i love the infinite adjustment of the ted su dive buckle, but it's thick, as it was intended to balance--both aesthetically and actual girth--panerai and other large divers.

Pam 305 comes with a buckle like that but it only works on certain straps.

Actually, it was a reference to Drews video, specifically to what he says at the end...

Matt, thanks a lot for this post and for the link, I had it seen this before and it will help me out a lot since the first Drew Canvas strap I bought (I think two years ago) has some wear and tear on it... Will get to work on it ASAP ;)

Once again, Drew, you rock buddy!!!
