Question for the strap makers here

Post by marchone » Fri Apr 10, 2015 5:45 am

I've been pondering over TR's comments about his new MM300. He, and others here and elsewhere, have opined they would prefer to see 22mm lugs on that watch and other divers I can't recall offhand.

Has anyone tried to make a notched strap that would widen to 22mm at the lugs? It seems doable. Is it? In canvas or leather?

Drew, Art, Justyn?

It's been done many times. I don't like the look.

What was the spread, Chris? 20 to 22 widens only 1mm on either side.

I've seen similar solutions on a few dressy watches that didn't look bad. Different but not bad.

I've seen everything from 20/22 to 22/26. OEM Bell & Ross straps do this. I prefer a simple parallel cut strap.

It's doable but I think to emphasize the transition at the lugs I'd go 24mm to have 2mm notched on each side?

I notched a 24mm Iso for the MM specifically. I like the look and it seems to do a good job helping to balancing it out.

It was just a thought that Tom or others might like. I have no need. The ISO sounds great Kelly. Do you have a pic?

Art, I'll bet you could do a great one.

Not a very good Wayne, but here's one.

Well, its a leather strap, but I've always liked the MM300 on a Di Modell Chronissimo:

For me the perfect fit for the MM was the Timefactors version with the fat ends on the strap.
