Interest check: 24mm bronze buckles
Interest check: 24mm bronze buckles
I've been speaking with Martin (the guy who made my Isofrane buckle) about producing some high quality CuSn8 24mm buckles for leather straps. They won't be cheap, at minimum $50 USD, but there isn't much out there that is any good right now. Martin obviously couldn't proceed with this if the interest isn't there so I am trying to gauge how many you guys might potentially order. Let me know by posting here and I'll keep in touch with Martin.

It won't be a pre-V. If you think you'd be interested in multiple buckles please let me know.

up in the air right now. Possibly similar to an Isofrane but wider and with a smaller tang for leather straps.Billwilson wrote:Style?

I guess there isn't much interest for this.

There are not a lot of bronze watches on DWC.... Maybe try WUS?
I would be happy with the Isofrane buckle with a narrower tang.

Not a chance in hell Joe. I thought there might be enough interest here that I could get enough to order a full run from him.Joeprez wrote: Maybe try WUS?

Re: Interest check: 24mm bronze buckles
How many would he need? Pretty sure he could sell the rest on the Bronze Watches facebook page and on eBay. I can definitely be down for more than one.

I was hoping to get 30 definite orders for him. I'm only doing this because I really want a few of these.Joeprez wrote:

I would be interested but you'll get more buy in if you have a rendering and design for those to see in order for them to commit. I won't commit blindly without a prototype or rendering to see what we will be getting.
At the moment there is a 22mm option that Clemens (Helberg/H20) offers which IMO is the best designed buckle (size and fit wise), and soon there will be a 24mm which I hope will be avail to purchase in the next month. But of course a universal 'sterile' non logo'd buckle would be welcome by most people.
I grabbed one of Martin's bronzo iso buckles as well and look fwd to getting it.
Pricing need to be in the $50 or less range as well. I wont be buyng a $100 buckle that's fer shure.
What would be the MOQ to get a run for a groupbuy?

Re: Interest check: 24mm bronze buckles
I have the Helberg buckle and will be buying the 24mm buckles when they are done. I was just hoping to get something low profile and sterile made so it could be used on anything. The look we were discussing is similar to the RS buckle but with a normal tang for leather straps.Danny_T wrote:I would be interested but you'll get more buy in if you have a rendering and design for those to see in order for them to commit. $50 was my goal price but obviously that is up to Martin and what it takes to cover his expenses and make some money.
I was hoping 30 orders would be enough, but I'll need to discuss that further with Martin.

Mine is spring bar
Think he posted reasons why

Re: Interest check: 24mm bronze buckles
The Isofrane buckles use a spring bar because he was worried about thread pitting between the SS screw bars and bronze buckle. In all honesty the thick spring bar he used feels solid as a rock and it's not an issue. We haven't discussed what would be used for the 24mm buckles.Panerai7 wrote:Chris they're not screw-in are they?

Agreed Danny. I'm kind of shocked more people aren't interested. Oh well.
