Which one CD-1 or CD-2

Post by caesarmascetti » Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:45 pm

I love the look of the CD-1 without bezel, the only change I'd make would be the hour hand should be slightly shorter or the min hand longer. Also, the bezel being just a bit thinner will make this watch look fabulous.

+1 waiting. Renderings aren't bad but not inspiring IMHO.

I'm more partial to watches with timing bezels, which is why I'm going for the CD-2 LE first (well, that and because of the LE awesome sauce that Todd is pouring on it, as well as the fact that it's the first one out of the gate), but you've gotta respect that the CD-1 represents his truest vision for what a professional commercial sat diver's "one-watch" should be.

Ideally I'll have both someday, but for the near future I'll settle for just the CD-2. ;)

Regards,
Adam

PS - Oh, and a little birdie told me that Todd has got big plans for the CD-1 as well...

This is why I like the CD_1 it's his vision of the commercial sat diver's dive watch, love things like that, no design committee no focus group one guy's vision. I think I'm in as soon as a CD-1 is available.

Actually all hands became a little longer than the renders .
A touch on the hour, a bit more on the other two.
I worked this detail out with Estima who are making the hands and we made new technical drawings.

But the answer is the next few weeks, pictures of the prototype will start appearing.

I think I saw this scene on the WUS Doxa forum once? Next thing you know Pat is gonna make a photo-shop collage of the CD2, get everyone in a dither...cause the thread to get locked and earn himself a little time out!

Well the CD-1 pics might be 2030!
But no price change, will be same. Same case basically, with same production costs. I wont get a discount for the bezel arrangement not being there.
Uses the same movement, same dial and same hands too.

Here's a really stupid question, do u think a HeV is even necessary? I mean it's really a marketing gimick and not much else.

I looked it up. Technically, it says "€ 0.00". I'll take one of each please. ;)
