Aegir US watchmaker is top notch!!!

Post by toxicavenger » Tue Mar 24, 2015 6:38 pm

I wasn't sure about using a new to me watchmaker since I have had a few issues with some in the past (aka About Time Watch Repair) but since Todd has been true to his word and then some so I took his advice on using his US Watchmaker. On top of that Brad told me he had dealt with Todd's guy also and he was impressed. That speaks allot honestly.

Well the US watchmaker is Jonathan Rowe of T.M Services out of New York. I personally have never heard of his name in the wis circle's I have been around (which doesn't mean much) but he was super fast and super reasonable on the price. The second day he had the watch it was already on the bench  . So I had him install the new dial, pressure test it, paint the second hand and install the new bezel. Jonathan even called me personally on the phone before he started any work to ensure he was doing exactly what I wanted.

Then he told me he could ship it out next day deliver and he did, heck that cost almost as much as the work he did. I am super impressed and might have to use Jonathan again in the future.

Thanks Todd and Jonathan, my hat is off to you. :headbang:

Oh I don't know if you can tell in the pics but this gray dial has machined lines (looks like it) in it. Almost like the dial is machined out of gray material with the lines. And Jonathan got the red paint on the hand to match the red in the CD2 lettering on the dial perfectly.

Also thanks Mark and Brad for fielding questions from me and ideas. :headbang: I might be done for a while mod wise but I do have one more idea I wanna do. :neener:

Terry, that turned out fantastic! I told you Jonathan was good to go. Frankly, with his skills in watchmaking, he can misspell anything he wants. ;) He is top-notch, and a straight shooter. I don't know many watchmakers that would keep a watch a few extra days just to ensure the timing was spot on.

He regulated mine also and watched it for a few days before he sent it out. Super cool dude.

Are you talking about the second hand???? If so I can try but my camera isn't the best for macro shots honestly.

You know what is funny is until I put the old bezel and new bezel together I don't even notice the difference's in them. They both look great.

I think Mark said it best, this dial is hard to capture the different version of gray color it looks like in different lighting. It goes from gunmetal gray to almost silver in the daylight. On top of that the blue lume looks killer with it.

The grey dial is just stunning. I love mine. Combined with the new seconds hand, it's my favorite watch to wear.

I still can't get over that seconds hand and the paint job. I should have had Jonathan do that to mine!

When it's due for a service, I'll have Jonathan do it then. ;)

The red paint keeps the shiny second hand from disappearing on you when there is some glare. It looks great in person.
