Some Aegir news
Over the coming weeks.
I plan to tell the Mhvj movement saga, that lead to the prolonged postponement of the CD-1, and the end of the Thomas Prescher involvement on the LE, and the eventual death of that LE watch. It is a hell of a story, and one that sounds made up, it is so incredible. But I assure you, it is not. 1 LE was produced in the end, only 1.
A short article of the Thomas Prescher made CD-2 proto actually in saturation in the North Sea, and I am considering to even auction that watch off after bringing it back up to scratch.
A thread on the possible interest in the CD-1, and how to get 25 of them done, and started now.
But first of all, while I am writing those, We have recently assembled the first 6 crystal back watches from 15 cases that were made that way. These watches have a different bezel too, which is not pictured here, but will be shown on Monday, and instead of painted markers these have a ceramic compound flush with the bezel inside each marker. It also changes the triangle to solid sides, and loses the dot either side as well.
I used a different date wheel in these, with the white background, as I feel it is easier to see the date.
Maybe in the future when I order more movements, I will get a bigger date version.
The other 25 CD-2 cases from the LE, will at some point be turned into the standard watch, but likely I will hold on to those cases until 2015 before I do so, and a few will be put aside as spares for way off in the future.
These will retail for the same price as the solid backs, even though there was added cost.
I kept strong in the whole Mhvj business, but did lose some passion for awhile there, but I am coming back full circle, and keen to move the CD-2 watches to put full attention to the CD-1.

Awesome Todd. Being on the email list, I got to hear a lot on the saga. Damn, that is one helluva crazy ride!
I am really interested in seeing these 6 variants on the cd-2, especially with this different bezel. Look forward to pics on Monday.

I just realized I misspoke in my post above. There are not "6 variants" - rather, there are a total of 6 of those variants made. But you all probably already knew that. Todd, I see now what you were referring to.

There is 15 cases, 1 went to a sample watch, 2 were sold , and these 6 have just been assembled.
