Crystal case backs

Post by t20569cald » Tue Apr 24, 2012 5:55 pm

Thought I would share the pictures of the crystal case backs here. The full cases are already with Thomas Prescher, and this is one of the spares with no serial number, hence the gap in engraving, that was to be filed away, but I couldn't help chucking it on my own watch, and I think I am going to leave it there. OK, he did not assemble this one, but as it is my own personal one, I do not mind.
The A10 is really nicely finished, so even on the regular watch I think it works great.

Todd, by any chance will there be non-LE crystal case backs?

It is something to think about, as the crystal backs were an after thought, and not part of the LE spec.
The spec difference was in the movement, strap/buckle and Thomas Prescher being involved, so next time I produce cases, I could ask those existing customers if they want one, and even consider having them as an option, with putting the serial numbers on the inside of a lug perhaps.

One cool looking engine in there.
I dig the engraving, including Thomas Prescher's name on the case.

I totally dig it. If it is offered as an option with the CD-1 (still anxiously awaiting) I could see getting one.

Its nice to check out a movement, but I actually like a steel caseback

Good to have as an option for those that like it though

When I make the CD-1, I will make these case backs for the existing owners of the CD-2. After that, I will likely move the serial number to the case, and offer it as an option.

Plenty of space on the rotor for Thomas Prescher to sign his name.)
