LE and the CD-1
So the LE still appears to be on track, but with Basel watch fair having been on, no new news to report.
By the end of the month, I should find out for certain, and then we will only be a couple of months from delivery, so all is looking good. (finally)
The CD-1 response was maybe not what I expected, but then thinking about it, I only asked a small list and put the question here, so the response was actually not bad at all.
Aegir is basically unknown outside this forum, and while it does appear from time to time in some post here and there, it is very little.
This will all change soon, when the prototype is back from Thomas Prescher, and a colleague of mine will take it into saturation, as well as the LE launch of the CD-2.
So right now, the CD-1 dial, a first dial that is really only being made to see proportions of print tools and appliques, is being made, and I have asked Fricker to start looking at the drawings of the case. It is important to keep the original design, but also getting the correct ratio between bezel thickness, angle, and dial size. This may take several rapid prototypes to sort out, but after all, this watch needs to be dressy as well, and done right first time.
I would hope to have something for everyone to see (in the way of renders) in the coming 6 weeks or so.

Re: LE and the CD-1
Wait a sec...you're changing it? I freckin' love it as it. End of story. See your sig Todd. Keep it that way.
Re: LE and the CD-1
Todd, FWIW I am keen to see the CD-1 in the flesh. I don't think I piped up in your other pre-order thread. (I would guess there are alot of others like me that are very keen based only on the limited info about the CD-1, but are really waiting to see it in the steel before actually making a commitment, or pre-commitment as the case may be) Hope that makes sense

That is the CD-2 though. Watch will be the same, just some bezel options later.
No, I am not changing the CD-1, but the angle of the bezel, needs to fit with the thickness, and dial size. It will not differ much, or maybe at all from the original renders. Maybe 1mm off the bezel, maybe. And yes, it will keep the hex screws!
Re: LE and the CD-1
All sounds very promising, Todd.
I know I'm not alone in eagerly anticipating the first prototypes of the CD-1.

That looks perfect. The Hex Screws will make changing straps much easier for those of us with less than steady hands

I always thought it would be cool if "Made in Germany" was replaced with just "Deutschland" on German watches.

This watch is stunning with the minimalist bezel and overall clean design!! I can see wearing it at the office and sporting it on an Isofrane the week ends and at the beach!! It'll be very versatile!

You should see the problems Korsbek is having dealing with Fricker about bracelets. It is so bad he will not be offering bracelets in the future.patstarrx wrote:I've liked this version the best.

The reason I never offered them in the first place, is there is German, and then there is "German" .CGSshorty wrote:You should see the problems Korsbek is having dealing with Fricker about bracelets. Fricker does not make bracelets, but sources them instead.
I went to a Swiss firm, that I will use when Aegir has the money, but min order is 300 pcs, and these things are not cheap!
As I do not yet have the marketing that can sell even a third of that, then it would be a bad move, so for the foreseeable future, it will be rubber and leather.

Thanks, and it may just remain the same. Once the first rapid prototype is made, it will give me an idea how it sits on the wrist.Jeep99dad wrote:the design, size and proportions on this photo look quite perfect to me!t20569cald wrote:zepp21 wrote:Wait a sec...you're changing it? There is likely to be 3 made to see what works best overall.

I can understand that.. have about a dual deployant clasp for the rubber straps ??t20569cald wrote:The reason I never offered them in the first place, is there is German, and then there is "German" .CGSshorty wrote:You should see the problems Korsbek is having dealing with Fricker about bracelets. Yeah, a deployant would really complete this look...
Carry on, Todd; we'll handle Don Corleone here.

I already know they are fine to buy, but again, 300 min order, and they are not cheap!
