Three very simplistic reasons.

1), I want to wear one myself.
2), To distance Aegir from some of the current offerings, not be be confused with contract cases etc, and being construed as expensive next to them.
It would change the conception of the brand, to those who might think the above.
3) To hopefully offer something out of reach, at a price that is still out of reach to many, but in the ballpark for many others that before could not stretch that far. I do not have the exact costs yet, but imagine that it can be done cheaper than it is now.
I have a ball park cost figure, and while expensive to make, I will forgo the gold rotors and hand engraving etc, and put it in a stainless case.

Other than that, no reason at all, but I want a Tourbillon myself and I do not even know why!

Does anyone know what the cheapest Tourbillon on the market is, except the Chinese ones of course?

I have an issue of IW somewhere with a spread on tourbillons. See if I can dig it up.
I think off the top of my head RGM probably offers one of the least expensive.

Are not cheap, I think you mean.
There is a Tourbillon diver out there, the RM025 I believe, but that is over 400K. UTS did one too.
I think there are more out there.
The RGM is 75K and the UTS one I looked up was 30K Euro back in 09.
It would be a long way off anyway, but will be on the cards when Aegir can afford to buy 3 or so Tourbillon movements at the same time as continuing with the plan.

his tourbillons are less expensive than most, and they are known for their robust/sporty construction
