First watches assembled

Post by t20569cald » Sun Nov 20, 2011 7:20 pm

So the first watches are assembled and ready to go out, but of course my web shop has issues. Always something!
For now it will be via bank transfer, but I have contacted a professional to sort this out and confident this issue will soon be rectified.

On the prototype, the screw bars are a fraction thinner, and fits well with the Isofrane. These production bars are thicker, and the rubber grips the bar a little, turning the screw.
I did not get tubes, as the prototype never had this issue, so on my own watch ( number 34) I used a light amount of silicone grease inside the rubber applied with peg wood, and it seems to have resolved the issue to send the watches out.

What I will do, is order Bergeon 160 screw drivers and screw bar tubes, send them out to all customers, so they can insert them (10 sec job) and also have a nice screw driver to change to other straps, as most of you guys do anyway.
I think it seems the most logical way to get these watches out to customers that have been waiting.

EDIT fixed that issue, I have the perfect tool, for a slight reaming of the hole in the rubber, so no need for grease.

Yep, same here. I can't wait for a slightly larger model.

Quite a few now, as some people pulled , which is to be expected after the length of time it has taken.
Still need to go through a lot of them, and waiting on people to get back to me as well.
Add to that I am far more busy than usual, ( second child due before Christmas) so I am taking things easy, and making sure all is good with each one, before I ship them.

44mm, is going to happen, but it all takes time, and of course money!

Considering the price, this is quite the bargain considering the movement you're using and the level of quality. Man, I'm tempted.

2k is a bit of money, no matter what you make. But compared to other watches out there, using the same components, I would not go as far as to call it a bargain, but it is priced well.
The LE on the other hand, that is a bargain, when you factor in the extra costs involved and who is playing with it.

Will be updates on the LE soon by the way guys, as Mhvj have agreed to let me know before Christmas, what they are doing.

Someone should do a write-up on the differences between the two movements used in the CD-2 and CD-2 LE as well and the standard ETA 2824 choice.
