Update 01/09/2011

Post by t20569cald » Wed Aug 31, 2011 9:45 pm

Soprod are back from Summer holidays, and are in the process of changing the hand height on the movements, which was a mistake on my part. Will take approx 3 weeks to do that and send them back to Fricker.
They are assembling the first standard watches and should have them done in 2 weeks or so.

So 5, perhaps 6 weeks more until they are sent to me for final QC and ready to deliver.

The LE watches will be expected around the same time actually, maybe a few weeks extra.

It may have taken a while, but we are almost there, and delays like this will not happen in the future, as I have learn't the lessons first time out. On the second run, there will be the full 5-6 month wait on movements, as re-ordering now would be a bit presumptuous. But there will be enough movements ordered to cover a 3rd production run as well, so things will pick up pace.

I can't wait to see these. Luckily at least 3 or 4 of them are coming to this area so I will know what to expect when the 44mm version is ready.

Actually Dave, I was in an underground mine driving a truck.
It shook me to bits, but the CD-2 preformed well. Got a few scratches though!
I needed a day job after not diving now (long story) but with the "accidental subsidence" the size of a football field, sinking into the
mine, I will not go back. Done enough of silly things my wife says, so am taking a day job in a surface mine in two weeks time.
I am having to retrain as an assistant life support tech, to go back into the diving industry, though not getting wet anymore.
Looking at re-entering the offshore Oil and Gas next year, but in the meantime I have a few diving buddies in the North Sea that are buying the CD-2 and continuing its testing and evolution, while being kind enough to help me with video and pictures.

Wow, adapting to life's curve balls, props.
Gotta be pretty surreal and claustrophobic being underground and all.

Cool to hear of real life testing, look forward to hear more from the other divers.
Nice that the CD-2 is performing well under extreme environments.

Good luck with all buddy.
cheers,
Dave

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the CD-2 LE is gonna be one for the record books.

Hell, your whole damn watch company is one for the record books.

7 of the next 15 planned are spoken for, and I know Thomas Prescher has had some inquires, but I have not followed that up yet.
Maybe I will produce more than 15 next if the interest is there, I will think it over and see what happens with Mhvj as well.

Interesting. I'm guessing you're talking about the LE.
So does that mean 8 still available out of the 15?

Are the regular CD-2 pieces sold out?

thx.

No, it is 8 from the second 15 LE are still available. That may or may not even be produced, but I am sure they will.

The regular CD-2, there is still quite a few of, around 16 or so.
I have not really promoted them anywhere, was just focused on the LE, and even forgot to save one for myself!
So yeah, there will have to be a second production so I can get one.

Holy shit, if that's the case, i'm saving NOW. I should have never backed out on the first batch but had to. :crybaby: Seriously, if you're doing another batch of LEs with Prescher's hands in it and the Mhvj, I'm there.

And thanks for the updates, Todd. I cannot wait to see the finished product and hear the reviews. :thatshot:

Thanks for the clarification Todd.
Good to know.

I got some time to diversify the portfolio, so we'll see how the chips fall.
