July update

Post by t20569cald » Wed Jul 06, 2011 8:10 am

Waiting on a reply from Soprod, but recently they told me the A10 movements would be delivered about now
New dials are cool, cases are made and ready, hands long since made, Isofrane straps on the way and final details as booklets and warrant/Instruction books been laid out and printed.

Fantastic, Todd!!! I know you've had your trials and tribulations but at the end of this, the elation that you'll feel hopefully will be worth it!

Indeed it will, but mainly so I can get ordering new movements with the investment I get back.
I do not want to chance anything, so have no new orders in. 6 month lead time!

Funny, because I am not even getting an LE. I forgot to reserve one for myself, what if Thomas Prescher is too busy, or does not want to go on! I miss out on the mhvj cal 2005 and the Prescher assembled watch.
OK, I have the fully built prototype, but that will be renewed and boxed up, put in the safe after its first saturation dive.
I am not excited anymore, but envious!

I would :1: that, but I WAS in on the LE but had to pull out due to the $$. If only our f'n house had sold months ago, I might very well be chomping at the bit to get this one in. Alas, I'll have to live vicariously through the folks here that got in on the deal and hope one of them decides to part with it.

Wait....Todd's not getting his own LE? :naughty: You owe it to yourself to keep one, ya know? I mean, the prototype is cool as hell, but not having a LE you designed and had hand assembled by Thomas Prescher is almost blasphemy.
You give respect, you'll get respect - you just don't know your place.

FUBLOME Pat. :bird:

Todd, that does indeed suck, but the prototype is the one to have, IMO (that's the one that Prescher really got his hands dirty on). And why tuck it away in the safe? I say wear the hell out of it.

Anyway, the CD-1 is clearly the model that's nearest and dearest to your heart, so just make sure that you remember to reserve one of those and all is well (if No. 1 is still available, lemme know... ;) ).

Regards,
Adam

The prototype will be auctioned, to pay for the new prototype.
That will most likely not be the CD-1, but something else entirely. Putting out some feelers now, talking with some people, hoping it comes together. This is all, just so dammed expensive that I can not get going on the 7 or 8 things I want to and have to wait for little bits of income to make it happen. My Tourbillon, which by the way I will wear every day :headbang: will need to wait until 2012.

Don't you worry about that, Pat; the CD-2 LE will be getting a proper Red Bar welcome.

Yep, a Tourbillon!
Not the cheapest way to go, but cheaper than you might think.
I am going to make one when I can afford it, find a price that works for everyone and most likely make 3 to see how it goes.
same thing as the other movements, 6 month lead time, and they will only decorate the movements to a standard if 3 or more are ordered.
If no one ever wants one, at least I will be rocking my Tourbillon CD-1 and CD-2! will bring a smile to my face every time I see it.

I can't wait for the 44-46mm model to be produced. Do you think you will do anything special with those or just standard models?

That's a good concept. Not many of those are being produced or really marketed from what I see..
I would really also like to rock a bigger size cd1 or a LE at cd1 pricing

Planning and doing is not so easy, but I plan to do something special with every singe model.
It will be something that will separate me from not only the internet based brands, from from most brands all together.
If I had unlimited funds, it would be happening right now, but things a little slow this way, but I will get there in the end.

Todd - with the 44 model, hopefully the dial width increases by 2 mm as well. Having a 44 mm wide case with a 28 mm dial looks awkward. I'm just saying......
