On a GasGasBones Nato
So Carl at GasGasBones sent me a few straps.
First off, never my cup of tea, but now that I am wearing one, that is changing.
I must say it is comfortable! And looks cool on the watch too.
No buckle scraping over the desk is always nice too.
I have struggled to get some straps on, including this one. The Tan one which is not photographed yet, did not have the leather pieces at the lugs was fine, but this a struggle.
Some rubber ones too, as while the placement of the holes is on purpose, as to eliminate any gap between strap and case, it eliminates it a little too much on some straps, and they are very hard to fit.
On others, just fine. But this being a sample, that issue is easily fixed with some fine tunning.
Future watches will have the holes moved 0.2mm out to make it that touch easier.
So, opinions?

That is a great look IMO. I like it as an alternative for the CD-2.

Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
Not the cheapest thing to do, but I am considering adding one to every box.
Bit of an after thought I know, but some strap details are still being worked on, and the LE ships on Metta leather with either a rubber or one of these in the box. Think if I do go with some of these I will ask Carl to do some minor changes to the design.
The standard watch leather straps will only be partly ready, so it might ship on rubber with a Nato in the box as well.
The leather is a very tight fit anyway and does rub on the case back (just) and maybe is better to wait for the later watches that will have a 0.2mm difference in hole position.
I have that problem with the Metta, and we shaved 0.1mm of the outer case back to fit it, but only on the 15 cases.
The standard leather, handmade by the same maker I am yet to see (he is busy and makes with traditional tools ) so it may be fine.
I will have to wait and see.
I do not plan to sell straps at any time in the foreseeable future, but will just include them or offer as options etc.
Of course I would sell a strap to an existing customer, but I am not adding them to the site as things to buy, at least not at this time anyway.

You can buy 22mm gasgasbones straps from Bremont (if you can take the price):demer03 wrote:He doesn't make them any more?

Boom - you dont mess around.demer03 wrote: Bought it...thanks.
From all accounts they are well made, and they are something different.
I am just waiting on one of the older style Speedy straps from here:

(I got this link from someone here, but can't remember who it was. Thanks to that dude though )
Oh and the CD-2 looks good on that strap
Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
Mike,
There's a US based AD on WUS that sells the Bremont straps for $55 +$10 shipping.
And as Matt pointed out, WatchObsession has the 20mm Speedy straps.

They are certainly a well made strap, I don't usually go for this type of style but these are nice and very comfortable.mfxr wrote:Boom - you dont mess around.demer03 wrote: Bought it...thanks.

I think a one piece strap like this would be a great practical option to include with your watch. I think a few extras like this really add alot to the package.t20569cald wrote:

I always wish watches would come with more kit personally.
The idea of offering straps etc to be purchased seperately on your site would be great also. There are alot of strap freaks around

Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
I love the feel of canvas, but I am trying to get away from the wrap and tuck of Nato....and Zulu's tend to end short on the Seal with me having to punch an extra hole, not to mention the big ring left where you rest your wrist when typing.
I hope this is a better fit. Oh, and Todd, I am sorry for the Hyjack....love the way the CD has come together. Poetry, the way you have handled this thing.
Cheers guys!

Looks comfortable as hell. I have wanted to try one of those for quite some time.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
The straps are very comfortable. I like them better than natos or zulus.
Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
It does look great. If you go ahead with these, I'd need a slightly shorter version than the regular.

This one seems quite short, my wrist is 7.5"aikiman44 wrote:It does look great. If you go ahead with these, I'd need a slightly shorter version than the regular.
you can just see the unused Velcro, not much.
I will ask for some changes, if I go with these, but just to hide the buckle a little, and less unused Velcro showing.
So different sizes perhaps
Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
Todd, I have two GGB's and they're a bit too long for my 6.5" thin but unstintingly manly wrist.

Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
This one is very stiff compared to the ones without the leather on them, so even more comfy.aikiman44 wrote:Todd, I have two GGB's and they're a bit too long for my 6.5" thin but unstintingly manly wrist.
As for the size, I think sizes to suit wrists will be the way to go.
Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
Awesome Todd!
GGB combo looks great!
I wish I could get a few of those.

Re: On a GasGasBones Nato
Todd, when you talk about including that strap are you talking only of the LE? Or also with the production model? I love the look and would love to get it with the CD-2.
