Prefer posting good news instead of bad
The bad news post would have been how my newly acquired Pam 24 was
running about 23 seconds a day slow.
I got in touch with the seller and he was very interested in making things right,
even offered to take the watch back (I had no interest in that).
We ended up splitting the cost of regulating the watch and the shipping costs, he's a good guy.
On to the good news post.
Sent it to MCWW and Jay contacted me today.
The watch is set and will be shipped Monday.
Jay's pics and comment...
Movement pics attached, it is very nice =) they even decorated the movement spacer !
My preference is for the watch to be regulated fast.
Here are the results Jay sent:
Before:
Dial Up rate = -25 Amplitude = 228 beat error = 0.1
12:00 down rate = -42 Amplitude = 204 beat error = 0.3
3:00 down rate = -31 Amplitude = 211 beat error = 0.0
After:
Dial Up rate = +12 Amplitude = 227 beat error = 0.0
12:00 down rate = +3 Amplitude = 210 beat error = 0.2
3:00 down rate = +12 Amplitude = 212 beat error = 0.0
As you can see the timing was real slow before the adjustment,
still there is very little positional variance and the amplitude is high, which is good.
The after shows a much better rate and very good amplitude and beat error.
I am looking forward to putting the new straps on...
still waiting for the green strap to arrive though.

Good deal Matt. An accurate watch is always better than an inaccurate one (duh),

Great news. I can't wait to hear how what you think about your new straps. That 7750 movement is a beauty.

looks good inside. i always loved this movement, its a 7750 without the chorno module, so you get the heavy rotor feel and robust movement, in a non-chrono package.

Good news, look forward to strap pics.

Hey Matt... who is the seller? Good in my books.
Nice pic of the movement and glad the 24 is healthy again.

good stuff, Matt. good on your seller for stepping up to help make it right, too. Jay does some good stuff & he's pretty damn quick, even on repairs. nice pics

Very cool, I had no idea those movements were so heavily decorated.
