RMM's New BBC....

Post by rockmastermike » Thu Mar 23, 2017 11:12 am

Big. Black. Ceramic.

Beautifully shaped 45mm Radiomir case that sits close to the wrist and the compound curvature (tumblehome) makes it very wearable.

Ceramic case is lighter than SS a tad heavier than titanium.

We expect a certain boldness and presence with Panerai - especially in their Luminor and Submersible cases. With the Radiomir we see the (expected) legibility but paired with a flowing and curvy case.

45mm case yet slim.....no shirt cuff worries with this Panerai

Stark white hands with black edges give them a floating appearance while the White markers explode through he sandwich dial

There is a lot going on with the case design - you have graceful arcs everywhere, you have bottom corners rounding up and wire lugs that point down

At the end of the day it wears like a dream

Congrats! I was wondering why you were looking for 26mm straps.

That's a cool one. Has Eric figured out if a ceramic case can handle a strap change?

Does not wear as you would expect a 45mm to wear - it is slim and comfortable not big and clumsy at all.

Ceramic case but has a SS caseback, screws and wire lugs so no worries about the strap changes damaging the case (I hope) - however there are small parts to worry about. I'll report on strap changing when I get a few in.

I was being facetious. Just make sure you use two screwdrivers.

I'm glad there was a black watch in this thread. Being DWC it wasn't a sure thing.

The wire lugs make strap changing a bit fiddly - small screws and it can sometimes be a bit tricky to re-seat the wire lugs into the case properly - but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Thank you everyone - I'll test out the OP XI power reserve this weekend (manual wind - 56 hours) and so far the time is spot on yesterday and today

Thanks, Chris. Not yet but I need to.
I'll decide tonight between the U1000 or the 564
