If you missed out on the 360, now's your chance

Post by logan2z » Sun Mar 12, 2017 1:30 am

The watch that divided a community and, until recently, wasn't even allowed to be listed for sale on Paneristi.com, the PAM 360. A very cool watch, but $12k cool?

What was the problem with this watch? Is it the one that was found to contain the shitty super basic movement?
I thought that was the one, ironically, with the Brooklyn Bridge on its case back.

I wasn't OG enough to be allowed to buy one back then. I really do love it, but 12k is quite as ask.

You had to be old school 'risti to be access to buy the 360 and that upset folks who thought it was open/avaialble to anyone.
it was political / back door arrangements - I'm sure I'm over simplifying it but you get the idea.
A anniversary forum watch that wasn't open to the whole of the forum....

Several have been listed for sale recently, even on Paneristi.com (that caused a minor shit storm). One for sale in Hong Kong currently for 15.5. That's a lot to pay for a "$6K" watch, IMO.

It was even worse than that. Even old school ristis were passed over for friends of the moderators/Panerai. That started a mass exodus from the forum and it's never recovered.

Too bad it was so badly mishandled because it really is a beautiful watch. I was on the list too (along with apparently 2600 other people) but didn't get one.

I'm not into watch mods but having someone DLC a 000 would be a lot more cost effective than buying a used 360, although I assume you wouldn't be able to replicate the vintage lume if you were after that look.

Ah the good old days.....It was fascinating to read to posts between the haves and have nots on Paneristi

An amazing looking watch in person (at least when I was really into Panerai.)

I admired what Doc did taking a 390 and having it DLC'ed to create the look. He sold his for the right price.

Barry

Yup, I think most people were unaware that the embargo had been lifted and raised a stink.

And yet I know a guy who added his name to the list and randomly received one, and he's a nobody. It's the watch that divided that forum. They are pretty cool in person and nothing like a DLC'd 000. 12k is cheap compared to others that have been offered for sale in the past.

I had no idea about the controversy of these. It's gorgeous nonetheless.

So it looks like you can add fauxtina to the dial after all...

I dig the watch is pictures. It wouldn't stick though for me as for some reason I always end up flipping black watches even thought I love them. I'm weird

I'm close to old school and I didn't get one. Probably blackballed by a few of the mods I got into fights with. Pretty much all the popular known members got one.

Total is 300, but I bet it's 301. One popular member who didn't get. All of a sudden received one

The unknowns who got lucky. Most likely majority sold theirs when the big flippers offered the cash.

Price was $7,000

Was also on the list for the '04 - 195, but had to drop out when I started having problems with my car and needed to buy a new one

I wouldn't pay the price, but I already have a 9BT from '98, so got my PVD fix
