Kodiak waterproof strap worth the coin?

Post by Americandave » Thu Aug 25, 2016 5:14 am

Hey guys, I'm looking at adding this to the shoe rack: http://www.tcstraps.com/collections/ori ... s/ok_black

Anyone owned one of these? The attraction is cool leather look but durability to do everything without a strap change. I think it'd be a good outdoor season complement to my 000, but I'd like to hear first hand about durability and quality.

I've had a couple of these before I knew what's what. Yes the outter layers are waterproof but thin. The construction is sandwich with fillers like that Filson strap. Rubber edge kote hides that but will eventually crack and peel and show those layers. It is Machine stitched which is cheap for that $$$
The buckle is pretty but uncomfortable and sewn on so you can't change it.

Just get a canvas from Art or Drew.

i have owned many kodiac straps as that is what Anonimo used to ship most of their watches on. I liked them as they seemed very very durable. That said, they were a bit stiff at first and took time to settle in.

Agreed.

I had a Nimo one back in the day and it was a cool strap but it felt like shit when it got wet.
