Lifespan of OEM bands
Wondering if anyone here has worn out the panerai gator or leather? They seem pretty solid so I'm wondering what to expect in terms of lifespan
Re: Lifespan of OEM bands
A lot of variables - how often you wear them, relative humidity of your environment , whether you wear them while working out, etc. as a general rule of thumb based on my own experience, a Panerai oem leather strap is good to wear routinely for about 12-18 months before you want to replace it, assuming you wear it "daily" (not necessarily every single day, but certainly your primary watch/strap) and don't exercise with or abuse it.

Does this work on rubber as well? I've had a Seiko Z22 dry up and crack.toxicavenger wrote:rub dic butter into it and it will last longer. if you need some then let me know.

Rubber is generally designed not to be penetratedjames80 wrote:Does this work on rubber as well? I've had a Seiko Z22 dry up and crack.toxicavenger wrote:rub dic butter into it and it will last longer. if you need some then let me know.

I'm not sure about OEM, but REM went about 30 years.

I've got mine on OEM gator with white stitching at the moment...takes a while to break in but ultimately makes for a comfy fit.
My AD has calf with white stitch inbound. Looking to build up the strap options a bit.

Not sure if off-topic, but a lot of "ze Germans" that come from Germany at my work (German company) all wear Nomos on stock Shell Cordovan, and they have had them for years, they look great still.
I think it will last a decade if you don't sweat it up, or get it too wet.

Panerai OEM straps are too short for my taste, so I opt for Kostas and Drew's canvas.
Re: Lifespan of OEM bands
Panerai straps are available in XL
But I usually wear mine on my canvas

Due Schthread makes great leather protectant. It cost way more than dic butter, so you can impress you friends.
