The blue kills it.

On second thought....
I'm completely over Panerai. Stuff like this reminds me why.

It's not the only thing!mattcantwin wrote:The blue kills it.
Faux vintage lume is not in concert with the modern case material. And, the name sucks. Why leave out the "n"? Carbontech, but not Carbotech.

I kind of feel the same way. I have two that I bought about six years ago but I haven't bought one since. Every year I look at their new releases but I never see anything I'd spend my $$$ on. I came close with the 372 but decided it was just too big for me.hoppyjr wrote:On second thought....

I imagine when Panerai was choosing the name Carbontech was already taken. So in September of 2014 Panerai filed for Carbotech.
I still don't like the watch regardless of its name

And don't forget the price..15.7 euro . If you have the opportunity, check out the new 572 (P4000 movement w/micro rotor, 45mm). I tried one, along with a 557 (destro 372), last weekend and I could barely walk out of the store Panerai is making some overpriced crap these days, but they still have more than a few gems in their lineup.

The only thing I like about it is the blue accents actually. I'm totally over the faux patina, personally. And yes, more 44mm please.
I like stuff....

A beg meh for me as far as OP goes for this year's SIHH. Hoping something good will still be announced in the next couple of days.

"Carbowreck" sounds like a diet program

This is how I feel about Panerai....unfortunately this reference is certainly in the former category...mechnut wrote:Panerai is making some overpriced crap these days, but they still have more than a few gems in their lineup.

Don't care for it. 233 and 270 are still the pinnacle of Panerai for me; just complicated and in-house enough to appeal to my snob WIS side, simple and basic enough to appeal to my "I want to chase history even though it's long before I was born" side, and stylistically classic enough to appeal to my former feigned Paneristi side.

I agree Zack - I'm kicking myself everyday for trading my 233 away...

I'm not ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater yet.
Yes, I'm a bit too conservative for this one, but there are a few Panerai I really like and would like to get back into one sooner rather than later.

Is this a real watch or one of those punch out deals in the latest issue of skymall? Carbontech was definitely already tm'd by Invicta, so PAM went without the N.

Skymall is going out of biz! Couldn't keep up with the times. Carry on.JonSnow wrote:Is this a real watch or one of those punch out deals in the latest issue of skymall? Carbontech was definitely already tm'd by Invicta, so PAM went without the N.

Looks like one of those watches I would find on The Reader's Digest.
