PAM 572

Post by mechnut » Tue Jan 28, 2014 3:08 pm

The 572 is sneaking in the back door after 2014 SIHH: 45 mm 1940 case and new P4000 automatic movement with micro rotor. Personally, I love it; especially the 12, 3, 6, and 9 with sub seconds.

That looks great!! The "automatic" on the dial needs to go, but otherwise, fantastic. Wish the rotor was gold on the SS model.

What's the MSRP?

8900 Euro for the SS model. There is also a RG version 23,100 Euro. +1 on the automatic. The rotor is tungsten on the SS model.

12k. Ouch. Getting up into the ridiculous AP RO and Patek pricing for a steel three-hander. And the 572 is sans bracelet.

I hear ya. By far my favorite brand, but their price structure kills me.

Great micro rotor, but retarded pricing.

Way out of my price range - but I'll comment anyway ;)

I don't like the 'automatic' either and I don't like the 9 and the sub seconds dial - I thought I would, but I think I'm in the one-or-the-other camp

OT: Since price was such a topic of this thread i have to say that just looking through recon for recent FS posts it sure sheds light on the price positioning of PAM. It seems like you blink an eye and all of a sudden the typical price point is significantly higher than what it was a few years ago. I wonder when they'll price themselves out of the market or if they'll end up being neck and neck with the likes of AP, JLC, etc.

I agree with folks who say "fantastic!", "expensive", and "lose the automatic script". But even with the dial pollution, I love it. Absolute class.

It's sporting some serious awesomeness. But it's not AP awesomeness...

I like that they maintained the 3-6-9-12 along with the sub-seconds hand. As it should be but usually isn't. But the Automatic on the dial kills it, that's gotta go. They came SO close.

I think it's definitely a good looking watch and the movement is really cool. The "Automatic" on the dial wouldn't deter me if I really wanted the watch.
I'm just glad this new model's looks and price weren't good enough to derail my plans for a 372

Wait a little, OP is lowering MSRP on some models including 372. So used prices should drop even further.
I would entertain an idea of a mint 372 for <6K.

I'm going to argue with lower prices on 2ndary market. I'd love a 292 for $5k
