PAM 356

Post by lilhoody » Tue Dec 24, 2013 4:29 pm

I don't generally get outside of the DWC, so I would appreciate a discussion about the "Dirty Daylight" Panerai 356.

It is the first Panerai in a while that has caught my eye. I prefer the Luminor case and I do't care about in house movements (necessarily). In fact I rather enjoy the 7750 wobble. Also, absence of shiny surfaces is appealing. To me, this is a Panerai for the contrarian.

- Thoughts?

- Are these too new to be moving second hand? or, at a decent price?

- What are the Panerai dorks saying about this model?

One more thing. I red this has a black dial, though I thought it had a tobacco dial. Which is it?

I like it enough to try it but I don't think it'd be a keeper for me, IMHO.

I can only speak to the dial bud and i have had similar thoughts with my 328. You would swear it isnt black in certain lighting conditions. I love it. I almost has a black vintage look to it. GL if you end up finding out it the watch for you.

Saw it in Vegas and it did really just "work".
"30ish years of martial arts and I've actually had the honor of training lots of LEO, spec ops and even SEAL team 6 on base, fitness training, not martial arts, but still the coolest thing I've done.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

Thanks for letting me play! "

I tried one on at an AD a few weeks ago. I liked the matte dial and "aged" finish lume. I went back to try and trade for it, but it had sold the day before.

Great piece, the sub dial at the 6 o clock position is cool with the PAM font, but for the price first hand, maybe you could consider this model since in house movements aren't so much of an issue, the PAM 213 is a split chrono which is about the same price second hand.

Too busy for me; date window looks way afterthought.

To my eye, it sort of looks like this:

212 is probably my favorite Chrono. Esp w/ 233-esque domed sapphire.

The 356 has just never done it for me - much like 95% of all PAM chronos.
