What do make of this 005?

Post by outtatime » Fri Sep 27, 2013 12:38 pm

I have no doubts to its authenticity as it's from a highly reputable dealer whom I've bought from twice before, but it's supposed to be NOS but something looks off on the crown guard. Looks like it's been brushed out or something-the last 005 I had the brush lines were all even and straight.

I don't think he posts here-if so, sorry! No offense intended.

The crown guard looks like it was hand brushed.

Yes. So not really NOS and would lead me to question other things maybe.
Now macros tend to exaggerate things though

See, someone needs to sell me a 422!

Although the local Rolex dealer did say he could "help me out" with the price of a DSSD. Not sure how much "help" yet though...

Is this an AD? If so, I have a hard time believing that any help he could give would get you down to the price of a second hand one. If he's a second hand dealer, it might be worth pursuing. Either way, can't hurt to ask.

That CG is jacked up.
"30ish years of martial arts and I've actually had the honor of training lots of LEO, spec ops and even SEAL team 6 on base, fitness training, not martial arts, but still the coolest thing I've done.

Full on egg head corporate job and I fly quite a bit so I'm really looking forward to adding to my collection of TSA friendly self defense tools. I have amcouple tactical pens, but I want to up the game and get into some custom stuff. Been watch obsessed for a while but this seems more fun.

Thanks for letting me play! "

Clearly not NOS. The pin should be polished, too.

Yeah, he just bought one of my PO's actually. This is one of those things that when you're within $600-$800ish between something 4-5 years old and something almost new, I'd lean towards new just because I am the way that I am about things.

Brice, why don't you go grab one and wear it for a day (but leave the plastic on please  ) and then I'll take it off your hands.
