Panerai 305

Post by caesarmascetti » Wed Apr 10, 2013 11:13 am

I just got the 305 back yesterday from their service center, serviced the movement, pressure test etc.... running spot on after 20hrs.

I must be crazy but Im underwhelmed by the watch. I actually prefer wearing my Fondale. I'm gonna give it a little longer and if nothing changes off to the for sale forum

Did the love die after she was gone away to the service center? These things do happen.

I was always underwhelmed by the 305. Nice on paper, but I find it boring IRL.

no it just seems sterile for some reason to me. Really well done just cold though. I'm not sure that makes sense

It definitely lacks the character of a 243.

On the other hand, of all the watches I ve ever sold, I miss my 305 the most. Followed closely by the Avenger Skyland ...

At some point during the year, I ll have to sell off my boutique brands to get back a 47mm PAM. 305 is right up there in my wish list ..

Have to agree, partly.
243 is more toolish .. More tank like ! Actually built to be a real Sub !
305 is more high end ! More sophisticated ... Which is both good and bad.

As silly as it sounds, the 243 having the numbers on the dial actually make for more visual interest whereas the 305 is rigid and very geometric. I love the 305 but tend to agree with you.

Not sure I'd kick it out of bed though. Haha.
