I am actually back in the hunt for a Panerai having sold my 87. If my memory serves, my journey has been 48 (40mm Luminor), 210 (45mm Rad), 25 (44mm ti Sub), 50 (40mm Luminor with bracelet), 283 (40mm to blue dial Luminor), 112 (44mm base Luminor), 176 (44mm base ti Luminor), 24 (44mm Sub) and 87 (44mm blue dial Sub).

I think the 24 is my favorite, and is the leader at this point for re-acquisition. I want to really love the 25, but I did not like the dial for some reason and for my I think I like the polished PAMs. I know if the 87 was too thick and heavy the 243 won't work, but I am intrigued at bit by the ti 305. 47mm may be ok for me if the watch is a bit thinner and lighter. I have never tried one on.

Part of me is also leaning to a 111. I cannot do the two hand PAMs for very long as I need the small seconds to keep my attention. The 112 and 176 just seems like too much dial when on my wrist so I think the 111 or even the logo with second seconds might break it up a bit.

We will see.

Try on the 305 if you are remotely interested, it wore really well for me. Otherwise it sounds like a 111 or 005 would be great for you

If you're worried now, you probably know the answer. If it's still FS, it maybe priced too high. I'm still saying the 25 rules. Be patient, you will find the right watch.

yes I am putting the 176 aside as I would not want to get a Pam to find out it is not for me because of the lack of second hand. The 25 above is tempting me.
I'll sleep on it, may sel mroe watches and bang... :)

That is a good price for NIB. I can't think of an AD that will give you that price.

Thank you!! I really like the classic Panerai look, sandwich dial and the Ti was a plus too.
It was that or a sub like the 24 or 25... Next time :)

Thank you Nishant! I'm very much looking forward to receiving this special one :)
I struggled with the choice between a Luminot styled Pam or a Sub, and even within the Luminors... Hat helped was eliminating polished SS models. Even though I like their looks alot and could have had one cheaper I knew I've never been able to keep a polished SS watch. So thought I'd be best avoiding these :) then I quickly realized the ones without second hands would not work out long term either as much as I liked the 176 and its clean looks. Titanium seemed interesting, I've grown to really enjoy Ti with my Breitling and Bathys and moray Ti47.
I wanted the newer mvt version and sandwich dial for a Luminor model. So all these factors helped me narrow down my choices within the Luminor family :)
I still liked the sun 24 and 25 though among others and missed on a nice one here. In the end I decided I liked both the Luminor and Subs equally and would NEED both long term :) I thought i'd I go with whichever I found at a decent price as I could not decide. Plus I when I think Panerai somehow, right or wrong, the Luminor style comes to mind as the classic kind o Pam... A good way to start :) and I can easily wear it at the office. In the end though, if I am WOw'd by it I'll just sacrifice other watches and save to snatch a sub later :) soon hopefully but later :) as hard as it may be to sell some if the watches I have left, I'd rather have 5-8 watches or do and real nice ones than 15+ :)

I waned to thank you all for the replies, help and links. It's been great and has helped me narrow things down a bit.
So now the wait is killing me :)
