Getting the Panerai itch again....42mm ?
Getting the Panerai itch again....42mm ?
Ive been without a PAM for a while now and starting to get the itch to dip back into the pond. I really would love to try a few of the newer 42mm models like the 1392 and the 682. Anyone here try these on in the flesh? 42mm Panerai seems interesting to me. Ive had the 312 and 243 both which are larger and felt fine on wrist, but man 42mm in 1950 case seems like it could be a sweet spot for me and my small wrists.

If you use baby wipes you'll avoid that itch.

Congrats Eric! Our baby girl will be born hopefully in 2-3 days. Her three older brothers will see change in the family dynamic, lol.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

I tried on the 1392 at the LV boutique a few months ago. I didn't like the blue seconds hand, and the 42 size just does not have the wrist presence of the 44's. I directly compared it to the 44mm 1312 and I preferred the 1312, despite my really small wrists. The 1312 does have the blue seconds hand also, but the thinner case did feel nice.

I'm looking forward to the 682. And I will also be getting a 563 in on trade later in the week, if you're interested .

Yep, also looking forward to the 682. I have always liked the 243, and having one smaller, without the cyclops and with a 3 day movement... damn it checks all the boxes for me.

44!
Go big or go home
I tried on a 42 at Tourneau in Honolulu and it was not my cuppa... and my wrist is only 7". 44 Looks big, but feels great

Love the sub in the first post. Not sure about sizes and not a clue what all those numbers you guys are calling mean but if you have an itch, do it.
Don't they wear smaller? How's a 44 on you? I tried a 44 sub chrono LE and even with small wrist wouldn't have wanted it in 42.

Hey James I've had 44s from PAM before and they were fine. But w small wrists the idea of a 42mm PAM caught my eye.

It is just preference. I can wear the 44mm, I prefer the 42mm after trying one on. I have a 6.75" wrist.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

Might be an option for me. I have owned several different 44mm PAMs and none had staying power. They all just felt too big, albeit it might be the thickness over the diameter though.
cheers,

Miss my 42mm 392. It was a great size. I owned the 44mm 233, which was amazing, but the 42mm fit better.
Re: Getting the Panerai itch again....42mm ?
Like the 682 but hate the price at $8400--the Pam 024 is a 1,000 less and even at 44MM the lug to lug isn't too bad at around 51MM...Some of the 42MM looks like they were squished..That 620 looks nice, though...

The 620 is lovely, but price is steep. I've been eyeing a 512 lately. Their prices are a bit more grounded.

I'm a purist. The 44mm Bettarini case is perfect.
