Servicing Info

Post by HaleL » Sun Mar 31, 2019 8:45 am

Hey all,

I recently re-purchased the Omega I had in high school and was curious about servicing...

A. Is there a way to see if it has been serviced through Omega?

B. My handset is scratched, will they replace them? Fee?

C. Hacking is hit or miss when changing time, what could cause this?

Thanks!Image

You can go on omega site and you’ll find the exact cost of service, they will replace the hands for you, yes.

Beautiful piece by the way.

Awesome, thanks! It’s $550 for a service. My only “maybe” is that it came with planet ocean hands but I put the originals back on. So if it were serviced, it would have had to have been with the PO handset.

Thank you! One of my favorites for sure.

No one will replace anything for free unless it is under warranty. Even then they will be tight about it.

Hacking being hit or miss might be a keyless issue. I would get it serviced.

As far as checking on service history, I contacted the local boutique and gave them the serial number of a Planet Ocean I purchased. They called Omega to find out the last time it was serviced by them. As others have said, if it's not hacking properly, it's a good reason to get service done.
No, it's not Tourettes.

When I bought my 2254 the dude included the omega receipt. I can confirm that you can email Omega and give them your serial number. They can tell you if they have ever serviced it. I’ve done it before.

Also- it sounds like you need to pony up the dough for a full service. You’ll be glad you did. And the hands of course will need replaced. I’m sure if you can find them from a legit seller who has stock you’ll save money rather than buying from omega.

That's not a 2254 bezel insert either. More PO/franken parts it looks like.

PO bezel and second hand (I have the originals but like these way more)
Omega said it’s not a problem when I called

Oh! And info for anyone interested... the Omega lady said hands don’t have a specific charge because “some techs include them and others don’t”.
Hoping for a nice tech
