Bling Bling And Bang Bang

Post by mattcantwin » Mon Feb 04, 2019 6:44 am

I bought the black dial Seamaster 8800 to replace the SMP-C I traded away.

Somehow, it wasn't fitting the niche and I moved on to the 43.5 PO, perfect fit.

Despite some reservations about the new design, I continued to check out the blue dial version, it had my attention.

Many reviews out there to read and a number of videos to watch.

I couldn't find dissatisfied owners.

Patrick loves his.

I decided to pull the trigger; thanks again to Rob at Topper's for a smooth transaction and great trade allowance.

The watch arrived this morning.

The last line of a review written on WUS by bber45 stuck in my head.

Bottom line: Lives up to the hype, worth the money, and purist shut your eyes. The New SMP is bling bling and bang bang.

He hit the nail on the head.

Checked one out for the first time at the local AD recently. The markers are pure awesome. I’d have to say the blue beat out the black for me as well

I feel like I've seen just about every picture of the blue dial on the internet.

What stands out is how varied the blue looks, from nearly black to a too bright, Pelagos-ish coloration.

It was the moment of truth when I opened the box and a great relief to see how good the blue looks.

PO is here, traded the MK II Speedmaster re-issue.

Solid watch, but I was ready to move on.

My goal for 2019 was to add a blue dial diver.

I can coast for the rest of the year.

Great looking watch. Shopping for the various Omega Seamaster watches has been a challenge for me with all the variations.

Lighting seriously affects the dial appearance.

This is why it so hard to pin down the dial color.

The sunlit pictures seems to photograph "harsher" than the dial appears in person.

It certainly is an active dial.
