Won a hummer on ebay

Always wanted to try a tuning fork movement, and really like Omega's 1960's/early 70's diver designs. I won this watch on Ebay last week at a very good price, considered it was services 5 years ago and is in terrific condition. The perfectly smooth sweeping second hand (300 tics/second) and humming sound is very captivating. The non-integrated bracelet f300 Seamasters are hard to find, especially with acrylic bezels in good condition.

Fun fact, these sold for more than the original Ploprof when new. Now you can get them for a fraction of what the Ploprof is worth.

Word of advice, dump it before it breaks. Getting these fixed are stupid expensive to say the least.

I've heard that. It was serviced 5 years back and appears to be running well. Supposedly there is a guy about an hour from here that can work on them. The parts are hard to come by given that they have been out of production for 45 years. Luckily they share the movement with many Accutrons which are more common.

No kidding! I was thinking maybe eBay picked up the slack from Backpage going away.

Cool, I had a Constellation hummer a while back.
One of the main issues they have is the plastic calendar wheel that gets brittle and breaks teeth.

Good article here actually:
