Sharing My Stash of Omega Dive Watches

Post by TyrantLizardRex » Tue Feb 07, 2017 9:35 am

I've been lurking for a little while, and thought it was time I shared my dive watches with the group.

I only really collect Omega, but have managed to nab some nice stuff in the last couple of years.

I like your taste in Scotch and watches...nice.

Cheers!

The Aberfeldy is a nice drop of drink for an evening. :)

Would love to add a PloProf 600 to the collection... but the prices seem to be high, and generally the quality low... :(

Thanks!

I try to buy watches with the best cosmetic elements that I can find/afford... as the mechanical stuff is easy to get sorted, but dials/bezels/hands are not.

I love the old Omega divers. Nice collection. I had a really nice Grand, Big Blue, and PloProf awhile back. I probably shouldn't have let them go. :(

One of the guys who comes to our London GTGs has all three of those, and brought them along a few months ago... the Big Blue wasn't my thing, but the Grand and the PloProf... wowzers!

Thanks - having a clear out to free up funds... think the APNEA will be making a move.

Truly nice collection. They all appear all or mostly original, which is always my preference. I've been fortunate to pick up a few NOS pieces for the late 60s/early 70s, which is nice, but I always like seeing some use and a wart or two to imagine the history of the piece. Enjoy!

Thanks!

The only thing that's been changed are the hands on the baby ploprof - when I bought it, the tritium was turning to dust, fortunately Swiss Time Services who I use for Omega work here in the UK, had a stash of NOS Tritium hands, and they matched the dial perfectly.

They also re applied the finish to the sides, where someone had scuffed it with a file, trying to cover up a dink - so the dink now shows, but the scuffs don't, which I'm much happier with.
