I love it and would like a blue one, fitted with the SM300 adjustable clasp.

The watch seems dated to me, I guess cause of the bond movies.

Makes me think 90's, kind of like a tag heuer kirium.

Maybe you're just young  I still think the 90s as, kinda now / recent

I've only seems a few pop up, and this one just popped up and sold in a matter of minutes.
I was mad about it, but then I was thinking I'd have to sell my original 2254 or Doxa to get it.

I'm currently on the hunt for the blue dial version of this Ti SMP 2232.80 on a speedy style bracelet. There's one out there for just under $1700, but the bezel looks a little rough and the "watchmaker refinishing" isn't too impressive.
I'd pass on that one as well
Yeah, and the seller has it listed as a 2231.80 incorrectly, which has a white boarder around the date window. I prefer the cleaner dial 2232.80 without the date window outline.
^^^^I have always loved the Ti version but the Ti does not look good if it was a daily wearer. They do not like to take abuse at all.

If they came out with an updated SMPC with a larger crown and the updated 2254/speed master style bracelet I might reconsider.
My same complaints. Even though I loved the way it wore and the dial/lume was amazing.

I love it. To me, the things that seem to be so polarizing (the hands and bracelet, which is the most comfortable bracelet I've ever worn) are what set it apart from every other dive watch and makes it immediately recognizable. I previously owned a quartz Bond version but sold it to help fund another project. I'm currently struggling with the decision to get a new smpc or the larger smpc chrono. My only real complaint is the size. If the smpc was 43 or 44 mm instead of 41 it would be perfect to me.

Two posts in four years. You must really like the SMP.

I'm failing to see the correlation. My apologies for reading more than I post. It seems some could learn a lesson from that.

Fuck you too.

My point was pretty obvious. For someone who doesn't post much to pick a particular thread, is a kinda special thing. Nice job ruining it asshole.

I have the Bond it was the first good watch I bought. I agree that the bezel is difficult to use and the lume could be better but I do love this watch. It has the most comfortable bracelet.

That pretty much sums it up for me too. Crummy bezel, great bracelet.

Love my 2254. One of the most versatile and classic looking watches I have.

I agree that the crown is smallish- but I don't operate it much since I wear it so much it stays wound.

And the bezel does take more to turn than most- and again I'm ok with that since I hate when bezels turn easily and sometimes turn when you don't realize it.

Resurrecting this thread to add my .02:

I've been given one to test drive for a few weeks, and I'm really impressed. I was always skeptical of the aesthetics, for the same reasons others have mentioned, namely the handset. But the inky black dial is cool and IMO the 41mm size is ideal. I'm warming up to it more than I thought I would.

For what it's worth, I learned to dive with the pre-ceramic version and had no problems with the bezel. I used it, along with a Breitling Steelfish, until I got a dive computer.

Steve
