I missed this from Basel and love the idea of of 39.5 PO.
I had the 42mm 8500 and it was too think for me.
The 42mm 2500 was perfect :banghead:
The 39.5 is 14.16mm tall according to the article.
Still tall for the diameter but I imagine wears much better.
Definitely going to have to try this on one.

I think Omega stumbled onto perfection with the 2500. They should have quit while they were ahead.

Agreed, the only update I could think of is a matte ceramic bezel for 2500D.

If it wears like a GSAR, which I think is around 14mm, it will work, at least on the bracelet.

RMM... dibs :)

That would be a nice upgrade.

Plus the nicer dial and bracelet from the 8500, and then the adjustable clasp from the 300m - it would have been the perfect omega diver. Each version gets marginally worse.

I actually prefer the dial from the 2500

I prefer the 2500 series and the aluminum bezel models. I'm over the ceramic nonsense.

Ok, so 14mm in 39.5 and over 16 in 43.5, umm why? It is the same movement. They don't get it , it's like a perfectly cut diamond, there are certain proportions to be maintained. 43.5 by 14 would have been perfect

Weirdly the regular 42mm speedy is absolutely perfect from a diameter, lug-to-lug, and width ratio perspective. I can understand altering the absolute size up and down, but the ratios are perfect - why they can't replicate that consistantly - I don't know.

I'm going to get an adjustable clasp for my PO and keep it for a long time. I've had it almost three years already.

The "1154" clasp (see WUS thread" is a direct fit.

Read it can be done to the 2500 bracelet, will look for the parts tonight.

Perfect size at 39.5mm. Now, to start looking for a deal.
It's a beautiful world! Gerald.

PO 2500 will require the end links from the equivalent 8500 variant. You'll use the screws and pins for the end link, but in concert with the collar from the 2500 pin/collar system. I believe one of the models won't be exact because the end links are different widths. There are two WUS threads which give details.
