Omega Adjustable Clasps Fit the PO

Post by AntonioPD » Sun Mar 13, 2016 5:43 pm

Hey PO Owners,

Have you ever wished you could get an adjustable clasp for your PO? Well now you can! Last week Pat (nellipj), Fred (keepsabeat) and I met up at our Omega Boutique and the tech fitted the adjustable clasp from the Speedy Mark II to my PO 45.5; total cost with tax $130. While we were there they pulled a SM300 from the case and confirmed that the clasp works on the smaller bracelet for the PO 42 and the PO GMT; Pat has one on the way for his GMT.

Here are the part numbers:

For the PO 42 and GMT: 117STZ000824 [EDIT: Apparently this part number is incorrect - it looks like the following part number works for the PO 42 and GMT as well as the 45.5. Sorry for the confusion.]

For the PO 45.5: 117STZ001154

The clasp works great; you can easily adjust it without completely removing the watch from your wrist. The Mark II clasp seems to have 6 positions over approximately 8-10mm. It also has polished edges, which look great.

Enjoy!

Tony

Will it fit the old 2500 PO's?

Likely not. 2500's use pin & collar link attachments, whereas the 8500's and MKII/SM300 all use screw links.

That's great, I take advantage of the clasp often.

one of the biggest pet peeves I had with the 2254 was the non-adjustable clasp.

I'm lucky that the PO fits me perfectly with a half link, but this is great to know.

It looks perfect in person. Why Omega doesn't do this right out of the factory is a mystery. I can't wait to have mine installed on the PO GMT. Great job Tony

This is great info. The clasp is awesome, and solves a previous weak link for Omega.

Would have been a nice addition to my 2500.

Anyone have picks of how the clasp mounts to the bracelet?

Much more practical than the standard divers extension.

Right, but I would probably never use it either. I think the one I only ever used was on the MM if my wrist changed sizes a little bit.

I don't normally like bracelets, partly because my wrist seems to change size more than most, and I can rarely get a consistently good fit. This clasp makes the Omega bracelet one that I actually enjoy wearing. It's as good as the Rolex Glidelock. A million times better than the MM300.

I was unimpressed with the MM bracelet and clasp. In fact, that is largely why I don't own one today.

My feeling on bracelets is the same as yours; I don't typically enjoy them because of the changes I experience during the day, it's usually too loose or too tight. My Glidelock clasp is fantastic, but now that we know these fit the XL PO I want another.

Hmmm... maybe something can be done, but would need to measure both clasps.

That's my though also Joe. If the screws are about the same diameter as the pins then it will work out. I just don't have those two pieces to try it out.
