It should look exactly the same.2canChew wrote:I think the lugs are too long, the crown much bigger than the original... and can't help but wonder what the lume will look like in 40 years. Also if I picked one up it's bracelet all the way!

The Boutique we visited yesterday received two last week and sold them the same day. I really wanted to try one.
Omega / Tudor / Rolex / Sinn / Doxa / Seiko

I'm a little surprised this watch isn't getting more love, here and elsewhere. It's exactly what JLC is doing: pitch-perfect remakes of iconic models, updated with great new movements, going heavy on the faux patina. And watch nerds can't get enough of those.

I can't say for anyone else but it took me awhile to focus on it as Omega has released perhaps too many new models in a short time.dukerules wrote:I'm a little surprised this watch isn't getting more love, here and elsewhere. This one and the Grey Side of the Moon have my attention at the moment. Formerly called Lunar Dust. Basically a grey version of the DSOTM. Won't be out until mid-February.marchone wrote:I guess I don't know that one either.logan2z wrote: Grey Side of the Moon

They're all a little big for me, but the finishing on that ceramic case is superb.JBZ wrote:The Speedy variations Omega is coming out with right now are terrific.marchone wrote:Nice. Very nice.

Size wise, they're most likely too big for me, too. I also wonder about the thickness, but they look fantastic.JP Chestnut wrote:They're all a little big for me, but the finishing on that ceramic case is superb.JBZ wrote:The Speedy variations Omega is coming out with right now are terrific.marchone wrote:Nice. There is no hiding the fact the 8500/9300 watches are big and thick.

CH Premier, they're in San Jose. Also check with the Tourbillon Boutique in SF, they told me about a week ago they'd be getting the SM300 in about a week. I'd be surprised if a regular AD got one ahead of the boutique.JP Chestnut wrote:Which AD? I'll be in SF on Saturday.logan2z wrote:Got an email from my local Omega AD last night. Andrew - please try to confirm if the lug width is 20 or 21.logan2z wrote:Got an email from my local Omega AD last night. The Seamaster 300 is in. Going to check it out this evening.

Re: Seamaster 300
I visited my Omega AD tonight and checked out the Seamaster 300. They had both the stainless/black dial and titanium/blue dial in stock.
The watch felt a bit small at first but I adapted to the size after a few minutes of wrist time. I really liked the dial and the fauxtina didn't bother me. I kind of wish they used the same finish on the second hand as they did on the hour/minute hands, though. The white hand seemed to present an odd contrast to the hour/minute hand and the lume color.
Both watches were on the bracelet which I still don't like very much. I'd like to see the watch on a strap before making any final judgements.
Overall, I liked the watch, but not enough to displace my PO 2500.
A few pics (pardon the plastic and reflections from the bright lights in the store):
Oh, and I asked about the lug width but the salesperson wasn't sure. Everything I've read online seems to indicate it's 21mm.
On the plus side (or negative side from the perspective of my bank account balance), they had a DSOTM in stock and I'm really starting to like it. I've been waiting to see the GSOTM but I think the black has more cool factor.

Re: Seamaster 300
Thanks for the update.
21mm lugs is strike 1.
White seconds hand, strike 2.
Bracelet is a foul ball, so we'll have to see if this one gets on base.
For similar money id rather have a used Submariner. These are going to drop like a rock after a couple years. I would never buy one new at $6k+

Yeah, Andrew's pics make me love it even more. I hated the blue when it was first released, but I've come around to it big time.
