It should look exactly the same.

The Boutique we visited yesterday received two last week and sold them the same day. I really wanted to try one.

I'm a little surprised this watch isn't getting more love, here and elsewhere. It's exactly what JLC is doing: pitch-perfect remakes of iconic models, updated with great new movements, going heavy on the faux patina. And watch nerds can't get enough of those.

I can't say for anyone else but it took me awhile to focus on it as Omega has released perhaps too many new models in a short time.

This looks fantastic on the tan NATO.

This one and the Grey Side of the Moon have my attention at the moment. Although the SM300 seems somewhat redundant with the PO

Formerly called Lunar Dust. Basically a grey version of the DSOTM. Won't be out until mid-February.

They're all a little big for me, but the finishing on that ceramic case is superb.

Size wise, they're most likely too big for me, too. I also wonder about the thickness, but they look fantastic.

There is no hiding the fact the 8500/9300 watches are big and thick.

Got an email from my local Omega AD last night. The Seamaster 300 is in. Going to check it out this evening.

CH Premier, they're in San Jose. Also check with the Tourbillon Boutique in SF, they told me about a week ago they'd be getting the SM300 in about a week. I'd be surprised if a regular AD got one ahead of the boutique.

Andrew - please try to confirm if the lug width is 20 or 21. :)

I visited my Omega AD tonight and checked out the Seamaster 300. They had both the stainless/black dial and titanium/blue dial in stock.

The watch felt a bit small at first but I adapted to the size after a few minutes of wrist time. I really liked the dial and the fauxtina didn't bother me. I kind of wish they used the same finish on the second hand as they did on the hour/minute hands, though. The white hand seemed to present an odd contrast to the hour/minute hand and the lume color.

Both watches were on the bracelet which I still don't like very much. I'd like to see the watch on a strap before making any final judgements.

Overall, I liked the watch, but not enough to displace my PO 2500.

A few pics (pardon the plastic and reflections from the bright lights in the store):

Oh, and I asked about the lug width but the salesperson wasn't sure. Everything I've read online seems to indicate it's 21mm.

On the plus side (or negative side from the perspective of my bank account balance), they had a DSOTM in stock and I'm really starting to like it. I've been waiting to see the GSOTM but I think the black has more cool factor.

Thanks for the update.

21mm lugs is strike 1.

White seconds hand, strike 2.

Bracelet is a foul ball, so we'll have to see if this one gets on base.

For similar money id rather have a used Submariner. These are going to drop like a rock after a couple years. I would never buy one new at $6k+

Yeah, Andrew's pics make me love it even more. I hated the blue when it was first released, but I've come around to it big time.
