I would think maybe lower. With a decent discount I'd think you could buy new for about $5K.jimyritz wrote: Probably settle around $4200 in the used market...Maybe lower..

If Seiko built a new 6309 I'm sure they would do something stupid with the date window. Look at all the terrible dates on the vintage inspired Longines and Hamiltons. Date window doesn't ruin 6309 either. So

That 300 looks great without that blingy bracelet on it.

I agree. The used market for PO 8500s is shockingly low, and they are similar at MSRP.logan2z wrote:I would think maybe lower. With a decent discount I'd think you could buy new for about $5K.jimyritz wrote: Probably settle around $4200 in the used market...Maybe lower..

The bracelet looks good, I prefer fully brushed bracelets but on a "vintage" watch as this one, it works.

As for the bracelet; brush that baby, just like a GMT-c.
I predict PO8500 prices will rise on the used market. Great watch, just that these things sometimes go in cycles. Anyone remember the prices on used DSSD's after the initial release hype died down? For a while they were high 5's - low 6's.

Re: Seamaster 300
I think the problem with the po8500 is the thickness. I Would love to own the Ti version in 42mm and at the current prices it's a great deal. Unfortunately it's just so damn thick. It's not 19mm like the DSSD, but it's still thick at 16mm especially with its not so flat case back.hoppyjr wrote:Petre has two minds, but he's out of both of them.jeckyll wrote:He's of two minds about that ...logan2z wrote:I thought you were a one mind guy.Terpits wrote:You can read my minds.4pfrench wrote:Those plus your Sub and BB would make a great one watch guy!Terpits wrote:Nice!! Man that looks great. Just when you think Tudor stole the throwback market here comes Omega. This is gonna sell bunches as long as the price is right.

Called my local boutique and AD, neither have it in stock yet. Bummer.
Re: Seamaster 300
Actually I don't find it all that thick. Not much different than the MM300, right? Specs alone should not be the deciding factor, you really need to try it on if you haven't. The relatively short lugs make it hug the wrist pretty well.JP Chestnut wrote:I think the problem with the po8500 is the thickness. Re: Seamaster 300
The watch is cute but I'd never pick it over PO8500. Yeah it'll look good in the right pictures with a right vintage filter and a background of some peeling paint telephone booth and washed out khaki shirts but on the wrist it'll look like a constipation attempt at something it's not.
Edit: I think you want vintage then get vintage. Otherwise baking a brand new watch in the oven doesnt make it vintage...yes I'm drinking

Re: Seamaster 300
I've never had one sized for me, which I'm sure helps. However, it's slightly thicker than my EZM1 which is flatter on the bottom and more curved on top. I'm really interested to see if the new clasp comes to the PO. If so, the older ones are going to take a further hit on resale. In any case, it's a great looking watch and a huge bargain compared to a mint 2500d version, or the LM LE.hoppyjr wrote:Actually I don't find it all that thick. The 8500 wears thinner on the wrist, even on my "manly" 6.75" wrist. Hoppy is right, you gotta try it.hoppyjr wrote:Actually I don't find it all that thick. Not much different than the MM300, right? Plus the domed crystal is part of that measurement. It doesn't wear any taller than a MM300 or U1 in my opinion. The case back is flat and sapphire. The 8500 sounds thick but is very wearable.Joeprez wrote:The 8500 wears thinner on the wrist, even on my "manly" 6.75" wrist.
