Omega deployant advice

Post by logan2z » Sun May 04, 2014 8:56 pm

I just picked up a 41.5mm AT 'Skyfall' and want to put it on a leather strap with an Omega deployant. I'll probably buy a strap that tapers to 18mm so will need a compatible deployant. I was looking at the options on ofrei.com but I'm not exactly sure which deployant to buy. I'm guessing it's this one but was hoping someone could confirm:

Omega 18mm Deployment Buckle 94521813 For Special Omega Leather & Rubber Watch Straps

I'm assuming that this 'For Special Omega Leather & Rubber Watch Straps' stuff doesn't mean that it can only be used on Omega straps for some reason

Congrats, Andrew! Glad it panned out in the end.

I think this mayyyyy be an older version of the deployant, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Skyfall is perfect on the bracelet, so I don't think you'll have much reason to switch. :)

What can I say? I prefer the watch on strap. Shows off those beautiful twisted lugs more clearly.

Thanks Matt, been thinking about this one for a while as you know. I'll wear it on bracelet for a bit but I'm guessing the strap will work better for me.

Thanks Ed. More bracelet love?? The lugs seem to disappear on the bracelet.

I definitely like the bracelet but this looks pretty awesome to me as well:

Andrew, I think I have a deployant for you if you're still looking to buy, cheaper than Ofrei obviously. PM if you're still looking, but I think 18mm is right.

Not sure if I'd go with blue gator, could just be a bit too much  something contrasting like below would be cool, maybe a lighter tone gator strap

not a Skyfall, but you get the idea...

Funny, I stumbled on this photo earlier today as well and it convinced me that putting the watch on strap is a good idea.

I wouldn't do blue gator either. Probably a black gator but there might be some browns that work really well too.
