Aust SAS 50th Anniversary Omega SMP.

Post by 93 Turbo » Sat Apr 26, 2014 1:58 am

Yesterday, I had a close look at a limited run of Omega SMP's Co-axil with the skeleton hands (don't know the exact ref #).

These watches are personal purchases by the individual members past and present and were commissioned around 2007 to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Regiment.

The watch to look at is your straight SMP, turn it over and the case back is very special, and very well executed. Each watch is personalised to each member who has passed selection and served in the Regiment as a operator. The members year they successfully passed selection is etched into the outer edge of the case back and their service e.g. 92/123456

To distinguish the flaming dagger, it is superimposed over the map of Australia.

No pics guys get very pissed off when people start pulling out cameras/phones, it also wasn't the time or place for this. I may get an opportunity to get a pic in the future.

Thanks gents, I'm still recovering from the day. A great one as usual, telling tall stories and hanging with mates I've known, trained and deployed with for over 20 years.

I will probably get a pic at some stage in the future. J

Best I can do in the interim. Below is an example from the British SAS, delete the writing and replace the flaming dagger over a silhouette of Australia. J
