Back from the Spa

Post by dnslater » Thu Apr 17, 2014 9:37 am

5 weeks after mailing my Omega off to Seattle it showed up today from Nesbits. Very happy with their work and communication. Jan is great to deal with.

Must be nice to have it back!! :) The Sinn looks HUGE next to it!

Full service/polish/buff. Watch stopped suddenly, although just gunked up, not the infamous 2500c stoppage issue. 5+ years old.

This is just a bad angle. Sinn is actually only 38.5mm diameter to the Omega's 41.5. Both dials are about the same size though.

Better pic.

Glad to hear its back. Nesbits is a great outfit, so I'm sure you'll be a happy guy for a long while.

I just still can't figure out how in the hell the lubricant got so junked up in only 5 years. If that is true of the stuff Omega uses then they must be using some really inferior products.

Either way glad you got it back but I have to say that Sinn looks pimp.

Overlubrication was a big problem on a lot of the 2500 co-axials.

It is amazing how photography can manipulate size perception. Both great pieces! I love that orange bezel

Daniels intended his escapement to be lubricant free and slowed down the beat rate. Omega engineers didn't believe him so they sped it up and lubed it. Hence the 2500 problems.

As I understand the A and B versions of this movement had a 28k beat rate but they slowed it in the C and D version because of the issues?
