Omega Seamaster GMT Great White

Post by rousp » Fri May 21, 2010 3:42 am

About time I'm making this post..
Around christmas jimyritz (Mike) sold his white GMT to me. I got it around january and have used it a lot since that!
I really love this watch!!!

Now, I still haven't posted proper pictures of it.. So, here we go:

And a picture of my current display collection:

Now, I have a video presentation planned as well. (In the style of my Longine video if anyone remember) But before I do that I have to get it serviced. Change the click spring and a general service.

Plans (dreams) for the great white:
Original oyster style bracelet
Omega Mesh
Hirsch Leonardro brown strap on deployant

Thanks Mike, I'm very pleased with the watch!

The collection is still quite humble.. Hopefully that will change over time.. And when I start working and stop studying..

But hey, 4 mechanical swiss watches before I have turned 22... I can't complain!

the great white and the rest look fantastic!

Any more info on the rectangle cased watch? also the vintage on the right that is on the stand, that dial looks sweet!

The rectangular is a Armani dress watch. I could sell it if you really like it. I don't wear it much anymore. Got box and papers.

The vintage on the right is an Omega Suverän. Not very much info on it.
It's made somewhere around 1939-1943, It's believed to have been sold exclusively in Sweden and a percentage of the sales was to support the swedish military forces. But this information isn't confirmed as fas I know.

Nice, how do you approach them? Send them an email? To where? Can only find a contact form on their webpage.. I feel so helpless filling out those contact forms.... :raised:

I was thinking:
I'm going to Switzerland this summer, wouldn't it be awesome to deliver the watch for it's service? :ugeek:

It do, whenever I can.

The problem is that it's a bit rusted inside and it's not watertight at all.
So my watchmaker told me that I probably shouldn't wear it in humid weather.. So it's not very wearable...

This Omega is (in my opinion) one of the best ever created. So readable, functional, lumey, handsome, versatile, and rugged.

Congrats on getting a really fantastic watch.
