Just in - BOND CHRONO

Post by deepcdvr » Fri Dec 04, 2009 5:03 pm

Just got this on a trade with Bo. I haven't said it enough, so I'll say it again: Bo ROCKS!

Anyway, he sent this overnight to me while I was on travel a few days ago. Love trading with the guy because we have the same wrist size, although I think his bicep is as big as my thigh...

I was not sure I would like the watch. Lots of collectors are not big fans of the Bond watches for various reasons. My problem was always the skeleton hands. Always thought they were a waste of some good lume paint. After a while, though, I started looking at the line a little more while surfing the Omega forums and wanted to see one in person.

This opportunity came up and I am very much impressed. Not so much with the quality, because that is expected in the brand and this watch did not let down.. quality oozes from this piece. I was mainly impressed because of it's overall package (that's what she said..:-) . This watch only measures 41.5mm, but it fills the wrist very well, is 'weighty' and has fantastic wrist presence.

Couple of things that seperate this from your father's Bond are the applied Omega logo, the blue lume and -- best of all -- a full 20mm clasp, which means the bracelet does not taper giving it a much more substantial appearance.

Ok, that's about all you'll get from me as far as a review..

That's a sweet snag Paul. I know what you mean about the bracelet. The fact that it doesn't taper really helps keep that big heavy watch case on top. I just have the white trash painted marker version, with the pedestrian Valjoux 7750 under the hood. It's not near as nice as yours with it's APPLIED OMEGA LOGO and BLUE LUME. But I suppose I'll just have to make due. :bird:

Awesome!!!

Nice pick-up mate.... interesting that you talk about the skeleton hands because that's always what's put me off that model as well. Will be keen to hear your thoughts on it

Enjoy buddy

Hey Paul,

Nice addition to your collection...I have the Bond bracelet on my Great White
and love it...For a 41.5 it certainly has wrist presence...

I've always liked the bond in black better than blue. You just proved it again to me.

Nice!!

Love it! For some reason, the standard Bonds don't do it for me, but that is one hell of a piece.

I dont get how you guys keep your watches in a near mint like state like that:think: That is a beauty though, Paul! I tried it on for size a little while ago...well needless to say it had it`s way with my skinny wrist and left without even saying goodbye. Guess it wasn`t meant to be

Very nice chrono Paul. Excuse my ignorance on this but can the chrono pushers be safely used underwater or are they locked down to prevent them being used? -Andy

The Omega pushers don't screw up or down. THey just look like that. All you have to do is push them.
