Updated Bond quartz version gets new battery...

Post by T. Wong » Sat Aug 16, 2014 2:35 pm

Love the model! Gave my auto version to my only nephew last year, so I bought a nice quartz updated version from a Japanese online store. A cult classic of a watch!

Thian, You certainly developed a thing for the Quartz Seamasters....
I have often thought that that one could be my One watch.

I want one at some point. Shouldn't have ever sold my auto.

Yeah, at the time, upon reading your great site, I bought what I could find on the Japan Yahoo auctions. Never did find a nice auto full size though...bummer! My fav of the prebonds is my full size 2 toned version.

You should have given him the battery-powered Bond.

This is my every day Quartz work watch. It's 10 years old and only one battery change and zero service. It keeps kicking.

My quartz SMP was my only watch for years. Great travel watch with its independently adjustable hour hand.
only accurate watches are interesting

Well, the auto was the only one I had at the time, and I wanted to give him something special for his brithday. Then I missed it so I scouted for one on the Japanese watch sites and found the newer updated quartz version for a sale price. I jumped at it. I like both quartz and auto watches. The quartz Bond is a keeper. :fro:

Very nice Thian! I recently sold my auto SMP, but might get a quartz model down the road to wear it on a nice blue nato.

Yep sometimes "great grab n go watch" is overused, but in this case it works for me. And agree it looks good on a blue NATO too... Mine's the older version (2541.80)

If you're going to have a quartz, it's gotta be an SMP
